Is it now safe to say that Mayweather is the greatest fighter of his generation?

How on earth you guys can have Pac greater than Floyd when Pac basically made a living of fighting Floyds left over and proceeded to get dominated in a fight against Floyd.

It's like saying Foreman and Frazier are greater than Ali.

No1 got dominated in there fight, the fight was much closer than *****s make it out to be. If he had taken more chances or done something special he would be regarded as a top 10 atg but he chose not to. He can still do something but i dont c it happening.

        your example isnt good.

I would say that i think Floyd wouldve beat Pac 6 years ago .... he is just that good its a shame he didnt prove how really great he is , as the rest have said he never went into a fight and you were "OMG I KNOW HE IS GOING TO LOSE" it was always "I HOPE HE IS GOING TO LOSE" for the haters or "no way he losses this" if you are a fan.
Best of our generation ? probably ( i can see why Pac has a running in this but im against it as i think prime pac loses to prime PBF) , TBE ? not even close.

Yeah, even though Hopkins is still fighting his era was a bit before Mayweathers along with RJJ.

Mayweather is clearly the best fighter of this era, I think he has the style of fight into his later years (he would take an L somewhere along the way) he'd beat most of the top guys bit similar to Hopkins.

            Of course he is.

He's beat all the other best guys of this era, he's a sensational fighter with every skill in the book and he's ran through divisions...all without losing.

Pac was the other great of this era according to most, Mayweather schooled him without having to leave first gear.

Ill start by saying I think Floyd is def an ATG. Where exactly he belongs Im not sure but I think its probably somewhere between 20-30, probably closer to 30. Those rankings are ridiculous though.

One thing I did finally do was watch Floyd vs Castillo finally because of this thread. Oddly enough I had never seen it. That was a robbery on the scale of Pac vs Bradley or Whitaker vs Chavez to name a few. It was a competitive fight but the scores they gave Floyd were almost exactly what I gave Castillo. Dude got straight ripped off.

First this thread is not about is Floyd the best ever. And no sane person even Floyd fan would say that. Second you cannot blame Floyd for always been the favorite, no matter who he fought he would have been the favorite. Name me one fighter he can fight where the odds would be against him.

If Floyd was going to fight GGG I can guarantee you the Las Vegas odds would favor Floyd. Floyd needs to go to 168lbs against Ward to be the underdog imo.

True, but you just forgot the part where Floyd, as an atg, gave JLC an immediate rematch and the chance for JLC to prove he was a superior fighter than Floyd, and JLC failed.

Floyd is the better fighter but doesn't have the better resume. Make what you will of that.

                      Floyd rarely "fights".

Most of his matches are considered snoozefests by the public at large.
