Listen to his post fight interview, he himself said there were some things that he wanted to do but Pacquiao didn't let him do it so he had to adjust, he didn't look bad to me, he just did what he had to do to get the win against another legend in the ring, Pacquiao is not a joke and winning 8-4 against him is a legendary accomplishment, no doubt about it, no way this would've ended up like Gatti Ward or Marquez Vazquez, there was a lot of stuff on the line and neither wanted to lose, and the better man was Floyd.

It happened sometimes that when a fight is so big, that the fighters are extra cautious, go watch Holyfield vs Lewis I, one of the most boring big fights I've ever seen and it was supposed to be a great fight, go watch Duran vs Leonard III, was also terrible, remember Mayweather is 38 and Pacquiao is 36, they can't throw 100 punches a round.

I have seen both of those fights and understand where you are coming from but when you have two guys making 275 million and 160 million for 36 minutes of work they need to take risks, make an honest effort and throw punches. Not do enough just to get by.

People always say he didn't beat a legend in his prime before, which may or may not be true depending on how u look at things, but I think he totally made up for it by his consistency, longevity and the things he's been able to do at an old age.

Beating champions in ur prime is a good accomplishment, but beating champions that outweigh u by 15+ lbs on fight night when u r clearly past ur prime is a much better accomplishment in my opinion, I don't know about any ATG who had the biggest wins of his career in the 4th and 5th weight class he fought at while he was in his 30s, people tend to compare him to Duran for winning a title at 160, well Duran won the title at 160 against Barkley, who was coming to the fight with 4 losses to some unknown bums and one of them was a KO loss, plus he won a title at 160 once, and it was a title, not a lineal title, when u look at Mayweather, he won a title at 154, 3 different times fighting 3 different hall of famers, one of which had a 13 year age advantage and was undefeated while Mayweather was 36 years old, They fought for the lineal title, these are accomplishments that people don't think about cuz the bar is set extremely high for Floyd Mayweather due to his trash talk.

Bear in mind he accomplished all that while lacking a very important tool which is KO punching power, this guy had to fight through injuries to his most important weapon in the ring which is his hands, how many rounds have Floyd Mayweather fought and won with 1 hand or even with 2 injured hands?

I can go on all day, but I won't cuz haters don't use logic, they will hate on him no matter what he does.

Who wants to get KOed in the fight of the century? Plus Mayweather fought the way he always fought, I saw him come forward a couple of times but this is not why people wanted to see the fight, people wanted to see Pacquiao bring the fight, cut Floyd off and make Floyd fight even when he doesn't want to, this didn't happen and it was because Pacquiao didn't make it happen, he didn't come to fight, he came to box and he lost, go back and look at Maidana in the 1st Mayweather fight, now that was some entertaining ****, Maidana came to give it his all, which led to Floyd digging deeper and being forced to throw a lot of punches late to make up for the rounds he lost early, the Cotto fight was also the same, if u don't force the boxer to stand and fight u he's not gonna put himself at a disadvantage and fall into one of ur traps, u have to force the action!

Don't take boxrec seriously. It's great as a boxing database but their ratings are jokes.

There were actual conversations about if Roy Jones Jr was legitimately GOAT. Not fanboys, like historians on ESPN discussing it.
That's because he has kept fighting way too long and has been knocked out so many times since.

Sadly that damages your legacy. Should it? No, but it does.

If Roy had retired after the Tarver fight he'd probably be amongst that conversation still to this day.
