no man. The Ali Act also forbids the same person/entity from acting as a promoter and manager for the same fighter bc its a conflict of interest. Here it seems PBC acts as thr manager and promoter, in that they secure venues, television, purses, all things a promoter usually does

how do you knwo when GBP was more profitable? honestly, did u look at their books? how could you even know such a thing?PBC as a company has been in existence since last year. In the lawsuit ODLH claims January 1st, 2015 as the date the damages to his company began. The original settlement agreement was dated December 19th, 2014. Since PBC was already in existence when the settlement was agreed upon I don't understand what happened on January 1st, 2015 that caused GBP to have new claims? PBC series wasn't even announced officially.
Golden Boy was more profitable with Haymon than without so I don't understand how ODLH would complain about the way Haymon does business. This could have been GBP on NBC, CBS, SPIKE, BOUNCE, FS1, ESPN but it was ultimately Oscar's decision not to go with the plan. He'd talked about a similar plan back in 2015

no one said Dibella is breaking the law. and, its only a conspiracy on Dibella's part if he was involved in the scheme to begin with. from the facts as we know them, he was not. PBC was set, signed a number of fighters to manager/advisor contracts. Then, PBC did the job of the promoter by securing investrs, getting tv deals, getting venues, and as such, securing urses for the fighters. once all the promoters work was , in essence done, he came to agreement withs promoters, like Dibella, and said you can promote this card for this % of the revenue or for a flat fee - not quite sure. DiBella did nothing wrong, but theres definietely a valid claim that PBC is a manager and promoterDiBella is not gonna knowingly risk his company and freedom being a conspirator to breaking a law he help write. You have to use some common sense. Lou knows that law better than anyone in boxing. The reason he's valuable to Haymon is because he knows that law like the back of his had. None of us knows how PBC actually works but I'm sure Lou has helped Al set it up in a way that it doesn't break the Ali Act.Comment

it doesn't really matter what anyone really thinks when it comes to history. Mayweather has beaten everyone put in front of him and has accomplished things that no other fighter has. He has been in more championship fights than any other boxer besides Julio Cesar Chavez. He has been the lineal champion in every division that he has boxed in and has never fought for a vacant title. He has made more money than anyone in all of sports and he has a greater impact on the publics perception of the sport than any other fighter ever has. And he did it without taking a lot of damage and blows to the head. No one else has ever done that in this sport. So whatever people think those facts and stats will stand as a testament of his achievements long after his last hater has been dead and buried...LMFAO. no one really thinks Floyd is the best ever. Maybe an argument can be made for the best of this generation, but Roy Jones has a legit claim to that argument.
Tht sai, this article is abuot Haymon. I could care less, as long as we see the best fights. Al has made a few, like Broner v. Porter amd Garcia v. Peterson (although they were both unecessaily at catchweights instead of 140 or 1470. We have also still gotten way too many mismatched like Erislandy Lara v. Delvin Rodriguez and Keith Thurman v. CollazoComment

1st off, he never won lineal at 140 - he took the easy fight vs Gatti instead of the tough challenege vs Tszyu - like he often does.it doesn't really matter what anyone really thinks when it comes to history. 2nd off, there are plenty of other great fighters who have done things that no one else has ever done, fighters like SRR and Ali
3rd, what does how much money he made have anything to do with him being the best ever - thats him being the richest ever, and you'll get no dispute there. he's the richest, smartest boxing businessman in boxing
That said, this article is about Haymon. Can we save your floyd D**k suckin for an article that is actually about floydComment

I never said he ducked Tszyu. I just said he took the easy fight with Gatti. no doubt it was smart business. It was a guaranteed victory vs a big name.
But he wasn't lineal at 140. He won lineal in 4 classes, just like Pac did. I just mentioned that bc this guy starts bragging about how floyd is the best ever in an article that is about haymonComment

The Ali act forbids the promoter from acting as manager because the promoter does not have a fiduciary responsibility to the fighter. The Ali act was not intended to prevent managers from doing whatever they possibly can, even if the manager puts on the show, as long as he is working in the interest of his clients. De la Hoya and Arum are trying to use a technicality in the letter of the law to over ride the spirit of the law. So basically the law that was meant to protect fighters from crooked promoters is being used in these lawsuits as loophole to protect crooked from the interest of the fighters.no man. The Ali Act also forbids the same person/entity from acting as a promoter and manager for the same fighter bc its a conflict of interest.
