It wasn't meant to be clever. Just rhetorical. The fact that he went above and beyond with countless links regarding PBC shows either it went over his head or he simply doth protest too much. My post was clearly in reference to the Ali Act, something people have complained about Haymon violating for years (while he was with GBP).Comment

that was at the very end when the writing was on the wall give me a break the checks had already been cashed at that pointNot true at all. Matter of fact that is what cause the beef between Oscar and the former CEO Richard Schaefer. Once Oscar found out about the shady dealings with Haymon and now Schaefer was allowing guys to fight without contracts it created friction, a forced resigning, and then a lawsuit. When you say Golden Boy wasn't complaining you are not talking about the current regime. You are talking about the guys who got ousted and sued.Comment

It's going to stick because regardless if you think the fighters are happy for now, what Haymon is doing is illegal. Ali Act is meant to put a stop gap so one person is not both promoter and manager. You have to be one or the other. And we all know Haymon is doing both. He is manager and is handling all the duties that a promoter would handle like paying the fighters purse (as seen when that fighter posted his check on instagram and the check has Haymon's name on it). He is hiring promoters as front men and paying them a small flat fee to use their license but he is dictating everything and handling all the functions a promoter would again this is illegal and cirumventing the Ali Act.This is why I don't think the lawsuits will stick. The fighters are happy and well taken care of and the small time promoters are being given an opportunity to compete with the big dogs.
The only promoters hurting are Top Rank, GBP and Main Events. Dibella, Warriors, Gym, Mayweather, etc. are all getting bigger and better cards.
The more the courts and government get involved the more trouble for Haymon. He hides in the shadows not because he is shy but it's so he doesn't have to answer questions about his relationship with fighters. I think the end game is he will end up cutting a check to Top Rank and Golden Boy and will be forced clarify his role and ultimately choose if he wants to be a Promoter or Manager. Right now he is clearly double dipping and using the title "adviser" to circumvent the laws.Comment

I agree with this. I think that's the worst case scenario for Haymon but also a likely one. I also think that barely puts a dent into what he's doing in terms of PBC.It's going to stick because regardless if you think the fighters are happy for now, what Haymon is doing is illegal.
