Golovkin is a 9 year middleweight veteran.
If you've followed Golovkins career, you would know how it went. Really he's only got some opportunities since he came to the US in late 2012.

Prior he was living and fighting out of Germany under bad management. He chased Felix Sturm for several years and worked his way up to being his mandatory. Unfortunately he stayed mandatory for over two years without ever getting the fight! Golovkin and Sturm were under the same promoter at that time. Sturm wouldn't fight him and the WBA wouldn't enforce it, apparently Sturm paid them off $750,000 (Sturms ex manager admits to paying the WBA to not enforce his mandatory). After getting d1cked around for so long, Golovkin wised up and tried to leave his promoter, which prompted a long legal battle, and Golovkin was forced to take fights in places like Panama and Kazakhstan just to stay active.

It was a long road, but he finally got out of his contract, signed to k2 who immediately got him on HBO in late 2012.

Look, I admit it is not this simple, but bear with me..... finance? fkn simple, take the fkn fight to establish yourself, the same way a pile of top fighters did previously.....
Where are these fights he can take to establish himself? I already covered the guys who have not been willing to fight him yet. Sturm, Martinez, Ndam, Lemieux, Quillin, Pirog (injury), Chavez, Froch, Cotto, Canelo. Even Ward wasn't interested when they discussed it.

And Froch is not a defining fight, it is a defining payday.
Above you were talking about taking a fight to establish himself. If he were to beat Froch that would surely establish himself and legitimize his pro career (I'd argue Froch is Ward's defining fight btw).

When Canelo wanted to build a better resume, and a better standing with the fans, he DEMANDED Lara..... and he did that against the wishes off his promoter.
Again, Canelo and Lara are in the same weight class. there is nothing extraordinary about top guys in a division fighting other top guys in their division. That is what they are supposed to do.

Compared to what Canelo did, it seems to me that Golovkin aint prepared to lift a finger to genuinely establish himself among the top echelon fighters..... all we get are reasons (excuses).
Did Sergio Martinez turn down Golovkin?
Did Felix Sturm turn down Golovkin?
      Did Cotto turn down Golovkin?
      Did Lemieux?
Did N'dam not show up to two separate purse bids when ordered to fight Golovkin?
Did Chavez Jr pull out of a fight with GGG?
Did Dmitry Pirog pull out after an injury?
Did Quillin turn down GGG before the HBO/Haymon fued?
Has Froch accepted a fight with Golovkin?

Now let me ask you, are these excuses or is it the truth?

If Golovkin has tried to fight all these guys you can't honestly say he's hasn't lifted a finger to try and fight top fighters. We know for 100% certainty Golovkin has tried to fight top fighters. It's not an argument being that it's factual, not opinion based.

I am not one of those fans who demand everything today..... I have been around awhile now..... so I have no problem waiting for Golovkin to make some real waves..... just so long as I dont have to listen to too much hypola in the meantime.
Why does it matter if there is hype or not? Mike Tyson didn't beat anyone at all and there was unbelievable hype. Nothing wrong with people getting excited about fighters. Hype is always good for the sport.

I am not listening to any of you accountant/TV host, fanboys.

If a PPV star like Canelo can fight someone like Lara - no problem - then Gennady "I wont fight anyone with a pulse" Golovkin should have no problem either.

These silly excuses, they run ok for 12 months, maybe longer..... but Golovkin is a 9 year veteran at middleweight.

Smarten up you asshats, this is Pacquiao II, all over again.

A very good fighter, just not as good as hyped by his team, and by the casuals.

There is an indistry term that best describes a large part of Golovkins fanbase..... "dumb-money".
Canelo Lara was on Showtime ppv, moron. Both were with GBP, zero obstacles.

I'm starting to think team GGG is content on cashing in their 7 figure checks to fight mid level comp 4 times a year. Why not make Froch an offer he can't refuse?
GGG was offered less than 30% by Chavez promoter. Signed that pronto. Show me one offer he's passed on, for financial reasons or otherwise

When he wins meaningful fights, then I'll take notice, until then, meh.
Froch is Wards best win, by ******ed friend. Got Ward to p4p #2. Froch >>> Lara.

And who the fcuk cares if you take notice lol? You're a red k ******ed troll

Golovkin had the opportunity to fight Ward a year or so ago which would have made him a star with a win. His refused because they felt they were entitled to a quote "large chunk" of the purse.
This is pure trolling. GGG never had the opportunity to fight Ward 12 months ago and you know it.

You have surprised and, as a fellow Brit fan, disappointed me recently Dirk. I've been reading your posts here for years, since before I even made the effort to open an account so I could post comments myself.

I had you down as a true fan of the sport who could be rude and opinionated, but knew what he was talking about and had respect for the truth. Seems I was wrong about that.
