Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua: Cornish Perfect To Set Up Whyte Bout

British knockout artist Anthony Joshua would be happy to face another unbeaten heavyweight - Gary Cornish - at the O2 Arena on September 12.

Olympic champion Joshua, who has caused a stir in the boxing world by knocking out his 13 professional opponents to date inside three rounds, was last seen halting - and retiring - Kevin Johnson in two on May 30.

The likes of Dillian Whyte and David Price have been mooted as potential domestic opponents for later in the year but in the meantime, Joshua appears to have his sights set on Scotland's Cornish who is promoted by Kellie Maloney and boasts an unbeaten record (21-0-0-KO12).

He's known as Wilder 2.0 for a reason. Embarrassing.

He's beaten some decent journeymen & a string of domestic fights wouldn't be bad if he fought Cornish, whyte & price. throw in a win over chisora & he could be seriously considered for a big fight in 2016...

Do you mean Cornish or who?
You really cant compare Joshua with Wilder. Wilder just fought guys with loosing-records for years and Joshuas build up goes way faster.

Cornish is NOT an acceptable opponent at this point.

Joshua should fight Wach, Thompson, Ustinov, Chisora, or Whyte.

Yep. By all means put Cornish on the undercard against a decent opponent to see if he can earn a shot.

Never seen Cornish fight but disappointed by this on paper.

Must mean Brook is fighting Rios on this date.
