He knocked out Chaves though, with a body shot IIRC. Put him down twice. That's all you gotta remember, he was young and KO'ed Chaves.

From his first step up fight vs Quintana (29-3 at the time) to Guerrero, he has knocked down every fighter he has faced except Jan Zaveck, where he had just 19 fights. Thurman is legit. I don't know about all the Mayweather talk, i'm just here to say he is a big deal indeed, he is one of the best fighters from 140 through 154. He is one of the best fighters among 3 weight classes, that sounds like a very good fighter. No one from 140 beats him, Mayweather and possibly Pacquiao could beat him at 147, but right now Pac with his shoulder excuse probably would lose if the injury/surgery is legit, Lara probably beats him at 154. That's like 3 fighters I can think of who can beat him among 3 weight classes. Again, that's a pretty good fighter. Give him time to get into his prime (27-31) and watch him dominate.

He knocked SK out on the heels of SK coming off possibly his best two back to back wins of his career vs Aydin and Berto. He also retired Diaz after Diaz most successful 147 run, Draw/loss with Porter and narrowly losing to Khan in England, knocking him down on his way to a very close loss with all English judges and English ref. Thurman made easy work of him in 3 rounds effortlessly, making Porter and Khan's struggles look even worse.

Thurman was getting tagged by Diaz before he decided to quit, when Thurman hit him with a body shot he didn't even wince. Berto and Aydin are/were nothing special and SK was last seen getting out boxed in a BKB pit by some obscure window washer.

But the same problems came against Soto Karass though.

Bradley, Pacqiao ? I would favour Thurman over them. Brook/Maidana would be close competitive fights.

The biggest problem I have with Thurman is his chin and his stamina. They don't seem to be world class. Of course, he could prove me wrong.

                Mayweather over Thurman.

Porter, Brook, Maidana, Khan would all have good shots of beating him - I think Porter probably is the least likely and thurman could outbox him.

But all of these are good fights.

If you think Thurman chin and stamina will be a factor for him...Bradley and especially Pacquiao he better NOT get in the ring with!!!!

Sometimes I don't like how Thurman reacts to getting cracked, the Diaz fight he got clipped with a good left hook and he looked like a deer in headlights.

I used to doubt Thurman, he seems like the goods but that always bother'd me.
