Thurman isn't such a big deal...

Before you give me abuse just hear me out. I just rewatched his fight with Diego Chaves and although I personally feel that was his toughest fight and best performance (as he adjusted very well) he was getting caught and was very sloppy at times. This might work against most opponents with his power but this is the guy you fans think can trouble and even beat Mayweather? "Are you serious?". Mayweather would see those punches coming all day. Chaves has a 66" reach and was catching Thurman and Mayweather has a 72" reach, that is just asking for trouble. I see Floyd outboxig the crap out of him. Numerous Mayweather opponents>Thurman. Canelo is a tougher fight that Thurman and look what Floyd did to him.

He definitely has power but most of his power comes from him winging his punches. He's definitely top 10 at worst but I favour Brook, Maidana, Pacquaio and Bradley all over him. My man Matthysse wants to move up next year and Thurman is an inch taller but has the same reach (69") and they both tend to weigh the same on fight night (157). I honestly believe that is a perfect fight for Lucas. Chaves got him on the ropes and hurt him with body shots and Matthysse has some of the best body shots in boxing. He's also a boxer puncher and I'm confident he hits harder than Thurman. (Judah, Alexander, Corley have said he hits the hardest out of their opponents).

Just my opinion. Have a nice, productive day people

Thurman can beat Bradley. Bradley has slowed down some and Thurman can hit him and hurt him. Bradley has no power to threaten Thurman with. Mayweather beats Thurman but Mayweather beats all welterweights. Mayweather is not fighting him anyway. Thurman is an even fight with Matthysse, Brook, Pacquiao and Maidana and that's very good company to be in. Thurman is Khan's worst nightmare. Thurman is a smart, aggressive, two handed puncher with speed and accuracy and team Khan will avoid him like the plague.

I haven't seen anyone say Thurman beats Mayweather.

Why are you basing all of this on a fight from two years ago? Thurman has improved a lot since then and from the looks of his more recent fights, I think Thurman does have a chance against Mayweather.

Besides, it's not like he was in any kind of serious trouble against Chaves.

Maidana, Pac, Bradley and Lucas would all be too small for Thurman. Brook would be a tough fight to pick and Mayweathers SKILL would favor him over Keith...

Chaves is an awkward opponent who happened to be Thurman's first real tough test in his career, i.e Thurman was pretty green. And he still won clearly and without any doubt. I wouldn't take much from that fight.

It's not that he was in any trouble, it's the holes which are there to be exploited by elite fighters. I.e getting pushed back to the ropes and eating some leather, if his chin holds up then he will be hard to beat.

One thing I can say about thurman is that he's not "robotic" and really doesnt have just one way of fighting.

This right here. Things got VERY interesting when guerrero starting pushing him back and had him on the ropes.
