that's how boxing is on hbo/showtime/ppv etc. how often do we get pick em fights these days?

The matchmaking has been decent so far, not great but not bad either, fairly run of the mill. The commentating has mostly be awful but that is nothing new. A big problem is that there has been no atmosphere at these fights, that is a fairly general US problem but it has been even worse with the PBC. The greatest problem is that they don't have the most exciting of fighters, they have a lot of good fighters but almost none of the worlds best and truly exciting talent. Without genuine stars PBC will probably be dead in the water.

The problem is that it's like a plastic meal being force fed to you because it's "free".

Let's face it, there's no way to fix it. Haymon isn't in the sport to make it better. He's in it to make cash money.

Don't worry. The experiment will soon be over once his investors burn through enough money. Guaranteed.

The matchups have been bad, announcers have been awful I mean so far the pbc has been pure garbage. But I love the sport and being shown on NBC,cbs, espn and other platforms can only help it grow. So deep down inside I'm pulling for this to work. What can they do to fix it?
The biggest problem is Haymon stable of fighters. There are here not to fight - only to make money. "Smart" boxing, "right money", getting a lot of money for fighting tomato cans - these guys really don't need to push themself in the ring.

If the same fights are on HBO, people would watch without complaint.

i think he's OK with throwing this money away if he gets the next floyd mayweather. he's reallyt not a boxing guy, haymon. i don't think he evaluates talent properly. thurman, garcia, these guys are not going to be the next mayweather.

he wants to groom a guy to beat floyd and take his place. he used to take advantage of ethnic / racial fanbases and make quick cash with bad matches on HBO, and later on showtime.

We are only halfway through the year and we've already gotten some really solid matchups such as Garcia/Peterson, Broner/Porter, Thurman, Guerrero etc...you guys just love to hate because its Al Hamon, HBO can give you GGG vs some bum or Bradley vs fckin jesse vergas and you guys wont say anthing lol, the bias is so strong.
The matchmaking is about making competitive and exciting fights, not only competitive fights. To make exciting fights you need fighters of differents styles, especially coming forward punchers, such as GGG, Kovalev, Maidana, Mathysse, Provodnikov, Kirkland, Froch, etc. The only coming forward puncher in Haymon's stable is Maidana (who is many moths from return). How can he make exciting mutch-ups with such stable?
                      Oh, I forgot about Beterbiev.
