I wouldn't goso far to call the matchmaking terrible but they need to get better with it.

What's the problem with the Pbc so far? And how to fix it?

Catch weights
Limited number of talent per weight class, which is the cause of the catchweights.
Fights missing weight with no repercussion
Not recognizing the sactioning bodies properly.
Production..
There's a lot wrong IMO. But the limited number of talent per division forces them to create matches where people have to ether go up or down in weight or meet inbetween. It won't go very far like this. But it's for casuals IMO.. and casuals couldnt care less.

Too many different channels, from a person who really enjoys boxing as much as I do, I can't keep up all the different channels.
Terrible matchmaking, catch weight fights are part of boxing, so I'm not too concerned about that, but goddamn I just can't keep up with all the different networks, I get that the air time is limited, but have some consistency.

Garcia and Thurman are in joke fights now so what does it matter? HBO worst fights from 07-12 usually had to do with Al Haymon. They are now dealing with a limited pool to choose from and they are still doing great while Showtime has all but disappeared associating with Haymon.

Where will the money come from then? I don't see cbs/nbc/abc/fox picking up that tab. One thing is a time buy, completely different when paying for PBC.
He is also paying to have his shows aired on TV. Again, with investor's money.
So what happens if the investment money runs about before PBC starts making a profit?
And how much of a profit will PBC need to make for Haymon to be able to carry on paying his fighters the same kind of money he is paying them now?
This is the "honeymoon" period we are seeing now, for Haymon's fans and customers as well for his fighters.
What happens after the honeymoon ends is going to be the real test of Haymon's vision and business model.

I voted for the terrible match making. But I wish there could have been an all of the above category. Because their match making as been terrible so for, with only one or two exceptions. But all of the categories are the main reason PBCis not a hot new program on TV. As much as I love watching boxing, if you want to bring boxing back to the mainstream you have to have the very best in all aspects, great matchmaking(which brings out great fights), great boxing atmosphere(not reality TV type, which PBC feels like), great commentators with expert opinions who make boxing easily understandable and PBC doesn't have any of that. It's great PBC is bring boxing back to free tv, but for its to be successful you have to have the best for all parts of this programs and it starts with great competitive fights that brings out excitement.

The main problem is they're [allegedly] breaking federal and state laws constantly. First thing they gotta do is comply with Sherman Antitrust Act. Then, they should comply with unfair competition laws in the states they do business. Next, they should stop tortiously interfering with competitors. After that, they should stop violating the Ali Act.
Once they do all of those things, then they can run a legitimate business and do whatever they please (within the bounds of the law). I still think Haymon can turn this ship around in the right direction.

Scrap the entire announce team. Boy are they garbage, even SRL and especially Marv or whatever his name is.

So one good fight (degale-Dirrell) and one ok fight(Porter- Broner) so far isn't going to cut it and it hasn't brought new fans to the sport I can tell you thatLast edited by boxinghead530; 07-02-2015, 12:02 AM.
