You mean you don't want Ward to dominate GGG the way Floyd did Manny.

Look, I understand that. Watching GGG KO guys with no chance to beat him is "exciting" to fans, yet those same fans do not like it when Deontay Wilder does the same thing. That's for another discussion.

Isn't the sport better when A guy like GGG, with so much hype and a huge following, fights a top p4p fighter rather than those he has been fighting?

Ward said he'd move to 175 a while ago. I also remember him saying "If I beat Kovalev, then what?".
... then he would have to beat Beterbiev -- which is an entirely different matter.

Good or not, roc will seriously need to reconstructure his pay or upgrade his opposition since they're paying for everything

GGG is the a-side so it doesn't matter what Ward sells.

We know he is better than GGG and that he has accomplished more than GGG. So have him fight GGG, so they BOTH have a chance to PROVE themselves to anyone who doubts them.

GGG can easily make this fight if its something he wants to do. He is the a side without question. Go to HBO and demand they get him Ward. Not really complicated.

My guess is GGG will copy the "Mexican style" and beat 75 cab drivers/bums before fighting anyone real.

So you think that Ward will accept under a million for the fight? Ward who was demanding $2 million for his tune up fights? Is GGG supposed to pay Ward out of his own bank account and fight for free? HBO refused what Ward was asking. So did Showtime. Everyone refused Ward which is why he had to fight on BET with a time buy.

A PPV would not do enough sales to pay Ward his side of the purse.

So how about all of you geniuses who think such a fight is easy to make tell the rest of us exactly how it can be done. And 'get GGG to tell HBO to do the fight' does not qualify. Neither does 'tell HBO to make it a PPV'. Tell us all how you would approach HBO to convince them that everyone could make money on this fight. How they can convince Ward to accept B side money. How to successfully market the PPV. Everything. Go ahead. We are all very anxious to know.

As I mentioned before, this entire business is out of wack right now.

The only profitable fight on Saturday was the lemiuex fight and that did the worst ratings.

Haymons time share buy and over inflated fighter pay has completely knocked the business off balance.

Roc nation will be out of this sport in no time.

When did he demand this purse? Are you quoting facts or are you speculating what he will ask for based on his purse from previous fights?

Yes he did. Before he does, I would like to see him and GGG fight given GGG can't get a fight he wants.

Don't you want to see Kov fight Stevenson before Ward like me and almost everyone else?

Cotto came up, stole Martinez from Golovkin (who he'd been avoiding for years) and now campaigns at 160 without even facing anyone at the 160 limit.

Larry don't be so ******, man. The situations aren't the same.
So why are GGG entertaining a fight with Froch & Chavez JR???

they not the same division doe. no 168 title doe. no interim doe

The result will be the same. Ward on his ass in the middle of the ring with a look on his face that says 'Oh SHIT! What did I get myself into!'.

Thank you! It is nice to find a poster intelligent enough to understand my posting style and what I try to get across. Unfortunately, few people here are able to see past the name of their favorite fighter and think everyone else is as biased as they are.

If Ward wants to fight GGG, he should be willing to accept around double what Monroe got paid. I could see Ward getting 500k-750k as the B side to a GGG fight on regular HBO with the fight being held at the venue of Golovkin's choice. That is what he deserves at this point in time due to his inactivity and the quality of his most recent opponents.
