Sports is something networks pay a lot of money for in TV deals which is always my point in talking to you, that is how it works because people have to watch live. I suppose Battlebots could be considered a sport~ and maybe it does better than boxing long run who knows then both will have TV deals~

It has to be the right sport. I don't see DARTS with a network deal. Or badminton. Ping pong isn't there either. Don't even see bowling on a regular basis anymore and more people belong to bowling leagues than have ever so much as visited a boxing gym.

Not all sports are created equal and not all sports are suitable to get a network deal.

Where's the money in fighting Ward? He can't sell. Gives away free tickets and has piss poor viewership. High risk, EXTREMELY LOW reward.

You claim Ward's the 2nd or 3rd best fighter in the world, then why pick on smaller guys? Ward needs to fight Kovalev anyway. He's a light heavyweight. He needs to sack up and fight him if he and his fans think he's the best out there in and around that weight division.

We have no idea if Ward is still one of the best fighters in the game. He certainly showed no indication of that on Saturday. A top fighter would have had an out of shape, overweight, Smith out of there in 3 rounds tops. Not 9.

HBO will not make the fight happen unless Ward is willing to take B side money. If not, the fight will wait until Ward raises his marketability to PPV level which may never happen at all. Ward may find himself relegated to fighting on BET time buys against the Paul Smiths of the boxing world until his contract is over and Roc Nation writes him off as a business loss.

We know he is better than GGG and that he has accomplished more than GGG. So have him fight GGG, so they BOTH have a chance to PROVE themselves to anyone who doubts them.

GGG can easily make this fight if its something he wants to do. He is the a side without question. Go to HBO and demand they get him Ward. Not really complicated.

My guess is GGG will copy the "Mexican style" and beat 75 cab drivers/bums before fighting anyone real.

We get it. Andre Ward doesn't draw fans to the tv. Thus, this being the reason why ggg shouldn't fight him. We'd rather watch, or not watch him, vs guys like geale, monroe, adama, rosado etc etc. Tier 1 tv ratings guys.
