and dude, you keep trying to skip over the fact that Floyd turned down a fight with Margarito, to fight Baldomir, a very meaningless fight for a lineal title that didn't mean s**t at that point, like it didn't exist...

and stop trying to make Oscar at that time out to be some killer...he was a pt fighter at that point who had already fought some good wars with shane, vargas, been ko'd by Hopkins, so a prime Floyd outpointing him to a split decision was nothing spectacular....it was a changing of the ppv cash cow guard...nothing more, nothing less...

did Floyd fight some better guys after that, yeah he did, but the name keeps coming up, and seems like you cats hate that it does...
you do realize floyd left TR and making a fight with him after the Judah fight was not going to be easy...especially after an ugly legal battle...sure he fought Baldo...but as a free agent he got ODLH AND HAtton RIGHT OUT the gate.....he wanted those fights and fans wanted to see those since 2005

he didnt duck margarito...hell he fought better guys in bigger fights....get over it. Margo was a great hope...dude was a B class fighter with a size advantage at 147...got destroyed by every A class guy he fought, couldnt beat Daniel Friggin santos and A prospect paul williams but he'd maul the best of the generation? ok bro

    we can agree to disagree

I think dan hamza confirmed Floyd could have fought margarito instead of baldomir, and still bought out of the top rank contract...

he didn't duck margarito you happy now...lol

only a Floyd excuse maker like you defends this stuff to the death, it don't mean s**t to me whether he "ducked" margarito or not, it was just a fight I would have like to have seen...did he lose some fights yeah but that never stopped Floyd before...lol

You probably said everything in this post about Maidana.

If not, kudos to you, but I'd predict that you thought all of this about him as well.

Yeah, Mayweather almost certainly beats Margarito, and very possibly does so easily. I think there's a possibility he would have been a tough challenge.

Mayweather probably couldn't hurt him much which means Marg would keep coming and coming, throwing in big volume.

Mayweather was (is) much better, but I could def see him losing a decision pending who was judging the fight

you do realize it would be a prime mayweather and not the damn near 40 year old version maidana fought twice

newsflash...maidana and margarito fight nothing alike....their aggressive, thats where the likenesses end.

or the one who actually fought at 147 in the 2000s vs Judah, Hatton, etc.

And Maidana didn't fight like Castillo. The only common thread among those gave Mayweather trouble were that they were much bigger and/or pressure fighters. Their skill and method of pressure were all different. The versions of Mayweather they fought were different as well, but he had the same type of trouble with each of them.

Margarito has the size and stamina that might make things especially tough for Mayweather at the time, especially having recently moved up to welterweight when the fight could have happened.

Chin, stamina, relentlessness, size and the constant pressure he brings.

all of those guys came up from the lighter weights like Floyd, and Floyd hadn't really settled into being a full fledged ww himself at that time...

Margarito was a huge natural ww who probably rehydrated to close mw by fight time...So was Williams...Williams and Margarito sized up perfect, but Floyd would have given up height, reach, and size to both of those guys...maybe not so much reach due to Floyd having good reach...
