what was it about Margarito that made some of you think he was a threat to beat Money

I would've always favored Floyd in that fight, but that's a fight where his intangibles (stamina, heart, chin, etc.) would have been tested like hell. Floyd would have had to fight every second of every round. Margarito kept coming forward, had ridiculous stamina, and the best chin I've seen in my life (granted, I'm young).
I always viewed it as a fight that would have been very entertaining, not necesarily a fight that Floyd would lose.Comment

The fact that Floyd disgracefully ducked him and fought that bum Baldomir for peanuts instead
Floyd wanted none of that endless stamina, endless punches, iron chin and never back down attitude
That been said, Margo was an ******* for asking Floyd for a fight personally, poor Floydette almost shat himself.Last edited by lopetego; 03-09-2017, 11:16 AM.Comment

His size, style, and chin could have been a nightmare for Mayweather. He was so long and so active and could walk through Mayweather's power, so Mayweather would need to be at the top of his game to move and confuse Margarito.
It's been proven time and time again that the best way to challenge Floyd in the ring is size and pressure, and Margarito had that in spades. Yeah, he had problems with much worse fighters. Marcos Maidana lost badly to Devon Alexander, but what did that matter when he got in the ring with Mayweather?
I'm not saying Margarito definitely beats Mayweather, but I think he would have been a tough challenge. I think Floyd knew it, too, because Margarito is the one guy you can make a serious case that he ducked.
Too many tried that n failed miserably
Those that had success were just more skilled too than Margo
Dude no head movement lol follows opponentsComment

why is it so important for you to take a big s**t on Margarito's relevance, or any possible scenario that could possibly take place in a mythical matchup that could have been reality, especially since it is an undeniable fact that that's a fight Floyd refused....it makes you look weak as hell....Comment

Yea he was so afraid of Margo, he went onto beat several better more accomplished fighters than him n several who beat him
Keep up the good fight bro
Nothing you say can change what I see and IMO the fight was not gonna be competitive and its crazy to say he ducked Margo when after fighting baldomir he fought ODLH @ 154 who was more dangerousComment

heres the thing, margie fans ignore mays skills. elevates margies ''skills''.
only one skill set is UNIVERSALLY recognized.
the other is fan fiction.Comment

So I'm ****ting on him because I used two good eyes n pointed out his weaknesses? OK bro

and dude, you keep trying to skip over the fact that Floyd turned down a fight with Margarito, to fight Baldomir, a very meaningless fight for a lineal title that didn't mean s**t at that point, like it didn't exist...
and stop trying to make Oscar at that time out to be some killer...he was a pt fighter at that point who had already fought some good wars with shane, vargas, been ko'd by Hopkins, so a prime Floyd outpointing him to a split decision was nothing spectacular....it was a changing of the ppv cash cow guard...nothing more, nothing less...
did Floyd fight some better guys after that, yeah he did, but the name keeps coming up, and seems like you cats hate that it does...Comment

He was easier than Baldomir. Slow, not enough head movement, power, boxing ability, or reflexes to do ANYTHING other than get out boxed by Floyd.Comment
