what was it about Margarito that made some of you think he was a threat to beat Money

relentless pressure, high workrate even when getting hit flush and a disgusting chin. Mayweather would have hurt his hand for sure against margarito. WHen he would hurt his hand would have been crucial.

What would have made tony a nightmare for floyd is that tony would not care if he was getting hit with everything as long as he makes you work every round. Floyd would probably hit tony at will but tony would just keep coming until floyd's hands breakdown.

Margarito lost to every Elite fighter he stepped in the ring with....Cotto, Paul Williams, Mosley and Pacquaio...even lost to Daniel Santos smh and no name guys early in his career

How was he gonna beat some one that was better than them....Mayweather is without a doubt the best of his generation and back then, their was no one even messing with pretty boy Floyd from 2004-2007

Cotto boxed his ears off until the bricks and fatigue played their part...Mayweather is better than Cotto in almost every era...until the 6 round I don't remember Margo taking a round

Dude was a good fighter but the biggest hype job of my generation....they all look like boogeymen until they face elite guys....I hope GGG live up to the hype

Probably because he had a chin and was loading his gloves. **** Margarito.

That legitimacy very seriously questionable, especially considering how the rematch played out, and the fact that he was caught cheating his very next fight against an opponent who people gave much less of a chance of beating him.

You think he would cheat against Mosley, but not cheat against Cotto in the much bigger fight?

Margarito at that time was pretty damn good in a similar way to Maidana and Casillo. He was always on the attack with a huge volume of punches to the head and body and he never stopped throwing over 100 good punches round after round. I still believe he would have given Mayweather trouble at that time. Mayweather avoided him and turn down 7 million bucks to fight him and fought Judah for less money when Judah was coming off a lose. I am not saying Margarito would have beaten Floyd but I am saying he would have been a hard fight and a fight Mayweather didn't want.

Nothing. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow of hand and foot. Chin and stamina wouldn't have made a difference.

And for your info the name Daniel Santos may be a nobody to you because you weren't following boxing then but dude was a two time jr middleweight champ. Margarito maybe be basic to you but dude was a straight up machine when he hit his prime which was around the time he wanted to fight Floyd. Believe it or not but there was a reason Floyd turned down 8 million to fight someone else for 8 million and one dollar.
                  Santos held a trinket

                  Wbo

The jmw champions and better fighters were Mosley, odlh, winky wright and kassim ouma at the time from 02-07

Santos beat nobody noteworthy mister if you followed boxing at the time

                    There is levels to

Margo got outclassed against a lesser fighter in cotto

Castillo is a better over all fighter n more variant in his attack than molasito ever was

                    Jlc could make the hall

                    Margo not so much

Throwing and missing don't mean much....you fighting top 5 atg in defense n counterpunching

Margo would have got whitewashed n picked apart....this is 06-09 quick prime Floyd not the pot shorter at 39

For some reason floyds power scares and tames every fighter into respecting him. And stops people from throwing.margarito would give no ***s about the dudes power walk him down all night . Floyd would either walk away in a good 10-2 win or . Would take a severe beating late losing in 11 or 12.
