Margarito is one of the most basic fighters I ever seen get turned into a boogeyman because a great campaign from his promoter and looking good beating just decent competition

Margarito lost to every Elite fighter he stepped in the ring with....Cotto, Paul Williams, Mosley and Pacquaio...even lost to Daniel Santos smh and no name guys early in his career


How was he gonna beat some one that was better than them....Mayweather is without a doubt the best of his generation and back then, their was no one even messing with pretty boy Floyd from 2004-2007

Cotto boxed his ears off until the bricks and fatigue played their part...Mayweather is better than Cotto in almost every era...until the 6 round I don't remember Margo taking a round

Tony Margarito was fighting pro at 15 A kid He was fighting grown men seasoned fighters just to survive He had no manager or team so he was thrown in & had two or 3 losses in his teens
Bothe the Santos fights were due to Santos headbutts causing serious cuts on Tony's eyes Santos should have been DQ'd
Tony did legitimately lose a close fight to Paul Williams but got no chance of a rematch
Tony beat Cotto LEGITIMATELY there were no loaded gloves he beat Cotto till he went down to his knees in surrender & QUIT!!! The rematch was headed same way despite only having one good eye. Tony was beating his chest as Cotto visibly wilted It was only then the NY doc stopped the fight. Not to save Tony's eye but to save Cotto QUITTING on his knees AGAIN!!!
Forget the Mosely debacle Steroid Shane was juiced to the gills in that fight same as he was when he beat Oscar. Him & that liar Richardson were the ONLY cheats that night
Pacquaio did legitimately beat Tony but don't forget Tony had only one fight in nearly 2 years. Manny himself said Tony gave him his toughest fight EVER.
Ive known Tony since 97 I think it was when he fought Buck Smith in Ft worth Tx. Tony never needed any illegal help . Richardson " PLASTER BLOCKS" BS started a storm they couldn't control & Tony Margarito's career was ruined by a lie

Add another dude that didn't watch the Santos fight and goes with word of mouth. One thing I've noticed here in NSB is that people like to spit stuff about fights that they didn't even watch.

Another thing, people like to watch the fancy head shots and not pay attention to body punches as much. From round 1 someone with a brain could tell what was Margarito's plan with the first Cotto fight. Body body body. That's what pressure fighters do right?

TS is right, Margarito was the biggest hypejob of the last 15 years. The best guys he fought were Mosley, Pacquiao, Cotto, Santos and Williams, he lost against all of them (yeah yeah I know for Santos). He was the typical Top Rank hypejob, Arum created that image of a machine by feeding him guys like Johnson and Cintron and everybody thought he could handle Floyd. I don't think he would have landed a single punch on Floyd, and don't tell me he could cut the ring cause he couldnt at all, he was slow on his feet, his punches were telegraphed, he had no head movement, he was a C level fighter and a certified cheater.


And I know his dumb fans will tell that we have no proof if he cheated before Mosley, but what I am 100% sure is that he could not cheat against Mosley and after Mosley, and his record since then was 1-3-0 got stopped 2 times and retired, and his huge power suddenly disappeared.

Richardson ended Margarito's career, not Cotto, Mosley, or Pacquiao.

Nothing about Margarito was enough to convince me. He wasn't as smooth as jlc, he wood not catch Floyd flush. He was a plodder and did not have one punch ko power. He didn't use a great jab nor did he have any defense.

He wouldn't have ever dictated the pace vs Floyd and he wouldn't have tired Floyd down. As good as Margs stamina was, Floyd's is maybe as good if not better. This, imo, would have always been an easy night for Floyd. 11-1 type decision
