Was it right for Cotto to have to fight Manny @ 145 in a title fight, when he was the champion? How long was Pacquiao the WW champ, and fighting CW fights? I don't like what Cotto is doing to GGG, but he's only doing what was done to him. Notice that Cotto has Roach in his corner, and he's following the Pacquiao blueprint. It's looking like GGG will never be in a PPV fight. That's sad!

It's possible isn't it? But Unlikely. Lara would have to fight the fight of his life and GGG would have to have an off day at the office. If Angulo and Canelo who both have poorer ring cutting ability than GGG could catch up to Lara the likelihood is that GGG catches up to Lara and does significant damage to slow him down and then detonate on him.
The alternative is maybe put out a feeler at a heavier weight - 164lbs catch weight against ??
      It's a problem for sure.
Froch, by the way is a crock. Froch the crock (of ****)
lara just fought for a million dollars, is he going to take a couple hundred thousand to fight ggg? seems doubtful.

        Why $200,000 ???
Monroe didn't get much but fighters prior got more like $500,000. Send Lara an offer and see what happens. If he doesn't want to fight for, lets say 3/4 million, so be it ... he can put up or shut up or ask Haymon to make the fight for more money - and that ain't happening.

Lara cannot fight on HBO for reasons everyone already is quite aware of and Lara would not fight for a small purse. His manager will continue to make ****** tweets and that is all there is. Maybe Twitter will cancel his account.

And would people please stop mentioning catch weights when talking about Golovkin. Both he and Loeffler have stated very clearly that GGG will not fight at a catchweight. If he goes to SMW, he will fight at 168 as a sign of respect.

You sound very sure. So if Canelo offered a catch weight at 156-158 you thing GGG and Loeffler will turn it down?

They were asked that exact question after the Monroe fight and said no, GGG would definitely not accept a catchweight to fight another middleweight fighter and that he had never requested a catchweight to fight at 168 and that he never would. People really have to start doing a bit of research on things.

why would ggg offer lara that much? he doesn't draw at all. haymon's a moron for overpaying lara that much. there was no reason to give lara that much since he makes haymon negative money. ggg's team isn't that ******. thats why he gave monroe 100k and not 500k like others he fought. if lara was a big star like cotto or had something like a belt ggg would pay him good money but he's nothing.

Haymon is not a moron. First of all, it's not his money, it's the investors' so it costs him nothing. Second of all, Haymon gets his 'advisor's' percentage which is probably around 20%. People keep forgetting that little detail. The more money his fighters make, the more he makes in return. Haymon made more money from Lara's purse than Monroe made to fight GGG.

I guess Haymon is kind of a 'purse snatcher'.

I agree with that. Anyone can see that Cotto wants nothing to do with GGG. It is that simple. Cotto will vacate the belt or have it stripped from him. Cotto will do that rather than fight GGG because after he loses to GGG there would be no big fight with Canelo.

Pac has never demanded a CW against a divisional rival, while defending a belt. Only when going up in weight.
