I agree with that. Anyone can see that Cotto wants nothing to do with GGG. It is that simple. Cotto will vacate the belt or have it stripped from him. Cotto will do that rather than fight GGG because after he loses to GGG there would be no big fight with Canelo.

That's assuming the WBC goes by their word and actually follows their own rules. Seems they don't care cuz they want that Canelo money, so they'll surely try to work out something with Golovkin to "guarantee" him winner (no such thing as guarantees in boxing though).

If Lemieux wins, I'd expect him to take an easy voluntary in Canada because that's how boxing works today. Then we have to see who the IBF props up as mandatory. Sam Soliman is fighting some dude on Showtime next week lol.

No confidence what so ever that N'Dam ever fights GGG. Hope I'm wrong if N'Dam wins. If N'Dam does win, I'd expect the same route of easier voluntary first in that airplane hangar out in Malibu first before losing that new belt to GGG.

GGG took the Rubio fight to get the WBC mandatory position. He should do that with the WBO and IBF too if possible. Isn't Jacobs the WBA regular holder? The WBA has made some reasonable money over the years from GGG fights so Team GGG should pressurize them to in turn put pressure on Jacobs - or strip Jacobs of that belt.

Finally, I don't know how much money GGG's contract with HBO is worth, nor what HBO is prepared to put in the pot to make GGG fights ANYBODY KNOW? - but I think K2 should be having serious talks with HBO - as in "Lets go guys" ... "lets put some serious money on the table to get GGG big fights" - otherwise we jump ship to AH!

I'm surprised Jacobs' team hasn't lobbied the WBA to order that fight.
They win bids and GGG has to fight off HBO or vacate.
Getting that belt off Jacobs would be the smart thing for Lara to do if he really wants to fight GGG(which he doesn't)
Not sure who is next in line with IBF. #1-6 is N'Dam,NotRated,Saunders,Lemieux,Soliman,Mora. Soliman fights on Showtime next weekend vs some dude.
Billy Joe Saunders is next in line for the WBO and he's not moving off that spot for a big fight with Eubank Jr and passed on the IBF title shot too.

If you are the WBA, who do you want as champion? GGG who fights four times a year or Jacobs who fights, well I can't remember the last time he fought or against who.

As for GGG jumping away from HBO, that ain't happening. GGG is not all about the mighty dollar, he wants titles. He also has been very well treated by HBO and is a very loyal person. He has repeatedly mentioned how well he is always treated by that network and after the way he was crapped all over in Germany, he will repay that treatment with his loyalty. He is not going anywhere.

Cotto will not be fighting Floyd except in his fan boys' wet dreams. Not going to happen. When he fights Canelo, they can fight for Floyd's vacated WBC 154 title and WBC will get their fees from that. They cannot fight for both the JrMW and MW titles at the same time. While they are working out the terms of their fight, GGG will be defending the MW title TWICE and WBC will be earning even more fees on top of it all. WBC loses nothing by Cotto vacating or being stripped of his MW title.

Didn't Floyd do this for Floyd-Maidana II? He defended his 147 and 154 WBC and Floyd got pissed and parted with Ellerbe.

I'll agree that it's unlikely Haymon allows Lara on HBO. It goes against his business interest to help HBO by giving Golovkin a named opponent to KO. Unless Al just wants Lara to take a bad loss to soften him up for J-Rock (who'll be fighting for the reg-WBA title), there's no reason for Al to allow it. He might as well have Khytrov KO Lara. Besides that, after earning $1mill vs D-Rod, Lara would probably price himself out vs Golovkin.

Actually Groves/Jack are rumoured for the Mayweather card. But I'm telling you Mayweather's not going to fight again this year, he's just sitting on that date for Al. Hearn has DeGale & Brook doing a double header in London at O2 that same day though, and he's looking for one of them to have a big opponent for the main event. Originally it was supposed to be Brook/Rios, but the glove thing looks to be killing that fight.

If N'Dam loses a close/disputed decision, I think he'll jump at the chance to fight Golovkin for $500k after only earning $50k vs Lemieux. If HNN loses to Lemieux he's kinda screwed.
