No PBC fighter will be fighting on any non-PBC affiliated show any time soon. It is simply not going to happen. I have no idea why people continue to think this is a possibility as it would weaken Haymon's brand just as he needs it to be at it's strongest. Imagine a Lara - GGG fight on HBO that brings in over double his rating on Spike? It would be a huge embarrassment to PBC.

    • DeGale wouldn't be as big as Froch, but it'd still be the biggest fight GGG could realistically get (if Hearn was willing).
    • Lara would be a good fight just because he's an established name and out of Texas.
    • Lemieux/N'Dam winner will want to milk the IBF title before handing it over to Golovkin.
    • Lemieux/N'Dam loser - most likely canidate, assuming their not destroyed by the winner.
DeGale is planning on fighting on the Sept Mayweather card. He will not be fighting before then against anyone.
    Lara: See above reply.
Lemieux if he wins will want a couple of defenses to make some money from the title before having it taken away. If he loses, there is no real point in GGG fighting him.
N'Dam has made a career of ducking GGG and will continue to do so, win or lose.

If you watch the clip on TMZ, it will become very obvious that Oscar was just clowning around about making a comeback and fighting GGG. He said "I think about coming back all the time" as I am sure most fighters do after a few years in retirement. Then he threw GGG out there with a big smile on his face. Anyone who takes that seriously is seriously spending too much time on the Net and needs to get some fresh air and exercise outdoors.

GGG would most likely want to fight in sept/oct and then again dec/jan. He wont want to sit from sept all the way to next may
Ok, so he takes another stay busy fight in Dec. Piece of cake.

Could you at least try to fight Lara? Make someone else say no instead of making excuses.

So after the WBC belt not Cotto. OK so if Cotto vacates then GGG will fight another nobody to get the belt and defend it against another nobody cause there is no one to fight in the MW wasteland

at 33 the man is wasting his career but hey its his career.

They are not going to strip him. There is a lot of potential that Cotto will fight Canelo or Floyd and the sanctioning fees they will collect will be much more than any other fight

I'll agree that it's unlikely Haymon allows Lara on HBO. It goes against his business interest to help HBO by giving Golovkin a named opponent to KO. Unless Al just wants Lara to take a bad loss to soften him up for J-Rock (who'll be fighting for the reg-WBA title), there's no reason for Al to allow it. He might as well have Khytrov KO Lara. Besides that, after earning $1mill vs D-Rod, Lara would probably price himself out vs Golovkin.

Actually Groves/Jack are rumoured for the Mayweather card. But I'm telling you Mayweather's not going to fight again this year, he's just sitting on that date for Al. Hearn has DeGale & Brook doing a double header in London at O2 that same day though, and he's looking for one of them to have a big opponent for the main event. Originally it was supposed to be Brook/Rios, but the glove thing looks to be killing that fight.

If N'Dam loses a close/disputed decision, I think he'll jump at the chance to fight Golovkin for $500k after only earning $50k vs Lemieux. If HNN loses to Lemieux he's kinda screwed.

I agree unless he can get a fight with Andy Lee or Lemiux if he wins, theres nothing there for GGG at middleweight. Cotto made a point of coming in light against Geale to show everyone hes not a middleweight and doesnt want to fight GGG, if he had any integrity he would end the farce and vacate. Lemiux is most likely going to be saved for canelo and delahoya isnt going to feed him to GGG. GGGs gotta make a move i say he starts fighting super middles, like abraham or stieglitz those guys are pure brawlers and they just keep fighting each other. The Ward fight will be hard to make. And fck Carl Froch for cck teasing everyone into thinking he would fight GGG.
