In contrast I have a new pair of 16 oz Everlast training gloves which are 100x better. The padding is really good. When you punch you feel protected.
Well, the difference between a 8 oz fight glove and a 16 oz training glove would be completely different anyway, that's obvious.

    What was your point?

That 2 different things felt errrr different?

I agree with Russ. The problem isn't horse hair gloves, the problem is regulating how the gloves are made, what materials can be used, and how they are distributed.

I doubt they do anything about it. These commissions haven't even regulated something as simple as cup heights.

europe takes health and safety matters a bit more seriously than the americas do. boxing was outright banned in sweden from 1970-2006(!)

A lot of people have complained about these gloves and how 'non-existent' the padding is.

I don't care what gloves you wear, punchers will still be punchers. Golovkin flattens people in Grant gloves, as do many others.

They should get it sorted and have everyone wear the same gloves: solves any potential issues, removes gloves that are highly contentious and as I said, the punchers will still be punchers.
I think they're too many established brands to do that. The commission should establish a basic rubric for gloves though. TBH, I like glove variety. I've seen Thurman wear Everlast, Reyes, and now he seems to have settled on Rival as his gloves of choice. Let the fighters make that decision.

The funniest part is that people think Rios install fear in anybody. Ortiz isn't even scared or Rios.

I going far as to say you never even laced up MX gloves before judging by your statements.

MX Are same padded as cleto and grant gloves use more foam then horse hair on their punchers version.
This is not true. You've obviously never felt and tried all these gloves. There are design differences unique to the MX. And there's a video above explaining this well after I said the same thing.

Fighters can't be relied on to make decisions that impact their health or the health of others. There's a reason for why it's illegal to take the padding out of gloves. If a glove is not fit for the purposes of boxing legally, it should be removed. Boxing is dangerous enough without unnecessary damage done by I'll regulated safety gear.

Exactly. A lot of this is because these people were never fighters, never trainers, never laced them up. So they don't realise that these issues, while seemingly minor, are actually significant.
