I never bought into that BHOP beat him tbh. Opinions vary n all that and of course you're rightly welcome to yours. At the end of the day for me he convincingly beat some of the best guys around him at that time, Mikkel undefeated, BHOP, Lacy .... Say what you want about Jones but the fact remains he beat him.

On topic, do you believe the Froch of 12 months ago would beat the BHOP of 6 months ago ? I don't. For me BHOP schools Froch, that ain't hate, just the way I call it. Ain't no comparison between Froch and Calzaghe IMO, none. Prime for prime the gulf is huge, would he stop him though ? Absolutely not. Where Joe brought demolish from I do not know, but I'm not reading deep into a throwaway remark of an interview I ain't even heard. I think Joe just likes to troll Froch and remind him of the order of things. This is no more than poking him.

Terrible matchup for Froch. I don't know anyone in their right mind who would pick Froch to beat Calzaghe.

Nobody even knew who Froch was. This was before Super Six, before Pascal. He was just a domestic/Euro level fighter.

Anyway, i'd take Calzaghe to win a fairly comfortable UD prime for prime. He's demolishing nobody but due to their styles, i think he wins.

Beating an undefeated Kessler was a great win but also annoying because it showed how good he can be when he wanted to actually take on a prime undefeated fighter who was genuinely world class.

Also a lot of people now shun his win over Lacy but i think it's unfair to judge a fight on hindsight. You must judge a fight as it was at the time, and Lacy was favoured to win to again i think its a good win. That doesn't go for that fight only, but any fighters. I don't judge their win with hindsight, i take it for what it was at the time they fought.
Calzaghe unfortunately beat the prime out of Jeff Lacy. That was a horrific beating he put on him for 12 rounds. That was watching someone sustain permanent brain damage in one go. He got Meldrick Taylored.

Calzaghe is often underrated because of his awkward style. Very much like Sergio Martinez, unorthodox in every aspect of his game, but without the power, so much less adored.

Calzaghe was a special fighter for a couple of reasons.

#1 - He had a quite remarkable ability to adapt and change in the ring.
#2 - He had a combination of hand speed, and workrate that is very rarely seen in the sport.
          #3 - He enjoyed a good scrap.

He has some fairly notable accomplishments as well, with his defeat of a PRIME Kessler while arguable himself past his best in a way kesler wouldn't be bested against until Kesler fought Andre Ward.

He beat Bernard Hopkins, and you really have to hate on Calzaghe hard to say Hopkins won that fight, it was close, but fairly clear win for Calzaghe, and we saw what Bernard went on to do after that.

Froch has never shown himself to be on that level. He was soundly defeated by Kessler in a war, and humiliated by Andre Ward.

I dont think Froch at any point in his career would have any change against Calzaghe. Im sure it would be a good fight though!

You retired at the exact moment the Super Six Tournament was forming.

Guess it was easier to pretend an old Roy Jones was significant than to put your balls on the table against Froch and Ward.

Yeah Calzaghe beat the prime out of Lacy alright.

The same prime Lacy that struggled with Omar Sheika who happens to be the only fighter he fought that wasn't terrible. Shock.

Or maybe Lacy was always just pure garbage.
