Andre Ward brings no real money to the table (cant headline ppv, cant sell tickets outside of oakland, and unfortunately accolades from internet trolls have no value in REAL life) but Ward would likely want in excess of $5 million to face GGG. Where is it you think that money going to come from? T-shirt and hot dog sales??? lol

NOW do you understand why Monroe got the fight?
Excellent, that now makes perfect sense.

Now I see why GGG has a shht resume after campaigning at MW for 9 years.

Ward aint the only fighter out there.

And Ward can justify his sense of self-entitlement to a certain degree.

I just dont understand how Golovkin can justify his sense of self-entitlement.

Most guys I know - in fact, all of them - paid their dues before making demands from established fighters.

If Golovkin beat Ward, even Pacquiao would know who he was.

I would accept that excuse if GGG was 1-2 year rookie, but not a 9-year yet.

      e.g.

After one season, a batting average means nothing..... but after 9 seasons, a batting average tells the whole story.

Common-sense dictates that after campaigning at middleweight for 9 years, Golovkin had plenty of opportunities.

Also, maybe Golovkin needs to drop his undeserved sense of self-entitlement?

I can understand Mayweather stating that a potential opponent may not make financial sense..... and I can also understand Pacquiao/Cotto/Canelo saying that a potential opponent may not make financial sense..... because when genuine PPV stars take that position, they immediately name the opponent who makes better financial sense.....

      e.g.
Cotto will fight Canelo before even looking at Golovkin, and Cotto will fight Mayweather before even looking at Canelo, etc.....

..... but I cannot understand Golovkin stating that Ward/Lara/whoever dont make financial sense, and then fighting Willie Monroe.

GGG had plenty of time to craft a decent resume, but his best win is Geale.

Cotto is not even a genuine middleweight, and has only been campaigning at middleweight for 5 minutes..... and yet he fought and beat the same guy who happens to be Golovkins best win.

I dont buy the " ducking " and the " financial " excuses from Team Golovkin. Gennady is clearly a very well-managed fighter.
Lol what are you talking about you don't accept it? I provided factual instances of guys in and around his division turning down offers from GGG. He's tried to make fights with Sturm, N'dam, Quillin, Martinez, Pirog, Cotto, Chavez and now Froch. This isn't an opinion, it's factual. The only name you bring up is Ward, who as I mentioned hasn't fought for two years and has an upcoming tune up fight scheduled. So based on the facts, we know Golovkin has tried to fight better opponents, there is no denying it. Unfortunately these guys mentioned haven't been willing yet.

          1. Ggg is a bigger draw than Ward ever was, even in Wards home state
          2. Not one fight fell apart over Gggs demands, hes about the most accommodating guy of his stature
          3. If Ward is itching for it, he needs to make an offer. Thats what A siders do

its not self-entitlement. He's Cottos mandatory challenger. He is SUPPOSED to demand the Cotto fight. He earned it. Period. End of Story. Is it his fault that Cotto breaks out in hives just looking at GGGs photo?

If anyone is pulling a "self-entitlement" card, its Cotto, thinking that fullfilling a mandatory is somehow beneath him. Although we all know the REAL reason Cotto wont fight GGG..........

              Defense-9

              • All I want to know is what are both fighters expecting to make on this fight? And what would HBO be willing to pay. Until those questions are answered you can't really point a finger at either fighter.

I want to see this fight and I'd buy it on PPV, but it'd probably bomb. The fact is I don't think the fight is PPV ready yet but both guys want to be paid like it is.

                • I noticed someone who was quoted talking about how GGG is not a 1 or 2 year rookie... well as far as the American viewing audience and fight fans are concerned, he is only a 2 or 3 year rookie. They were totally unaware of his existence until he started fighting in the US a couple of years ago. In that short period of time, he has gone from the small room at MSG to selling out StubHub to the point where they had to add extra seating twice to go well beyond their normal capacity. He came within less than 100 tickets of selling out the LA Forum in his most recent fight against Monroe! Not against an A list fighter, but MONROE!

Find me another American fighter with the same following after only 2 years. You would be lucky to find an American fighter with 5 years experience with that fan base.

The real reason why Cotto wont fight GGG, is the exact same reason why Golovkin will not fight Ward, and you know it.

Having GGG's nuts firmly in my lungs I can attest to the fact that he doesn't have a sandy vag1na like Cotto. Dem Puerto Rican beaches are bad news.
