Wrong. Maidana adjusts after the third round and starts making Ortiz miss and countering with brutal bombs to the dome.

Maidana made Ortiz quit. Ortiz entered that fight with supreme confidence -- body, mind, and spirit. Chino broke him and took his soul.
You're pulling out ONE punch that Matthysse got with in a 12 round fight and then ask when Maidana got hit like that. Someone points out Ortiz was hitting him all fight and you admit that he at least was getting hit with "bungalows" for 3 rounds.

You can voice your argument that Maidana is better defensively but showing that one punch and basically using that as your whole argument is awful. Look at Mayweather getting rocked in your sig, when is the last time you saw Maidana getting hit with bugalows like that? Does that mean he's better defensively than Mayweather too?

I voted Matthysse to make the OP mad because he's a Maidana fanboy.

        Fortunate he quit?

He quit because Maidana was beating the **** out of him and by the time he quit he was being dominated by Maidana.

You should read the post in context.

OP says maindana has never been hit with "bungalows," when in fact he was getting hit with bombs all night against Ortiz. He even says after the 3rd he didn't get hit with "bungalows" when he was clearly hit with significant punches. Therefore, the only reason he did not get hit with more "bungalows" was because Ortiz quit. Thus, he was fortunate Ortiz didn't have the heart to continue because every round before it was stopped he was landing heavy leather.

Ortiz offence was none existent by the time the fight ended.

            That was thanks to Maidana.

So again how is that fortunate? Maidana caused him to quit.

yes he mentally broke ortiz by taking his best punches over and over and ortiz cracked after knocking him down 3 times without getting him out of there. aka maidans great defense won him the fight.

I didn't say anything about his defense.

By the 6th round Ortiz was finished, he got utterly dominated In round 5 and was mentally and physically broken.

In what way does that make Maidana fortunate?

Maidana has become good defensively in the last few years. His experience is catching up and for an offensive he can be smart. Still struggles with the transition though. Better than Matthyse.

I thought my last post was clear. If a fight ends prior to its natural end, then that means in the rounds that would have subsequently proceeded the stoppage, I contend the fighter would have likely continued the previous trend of landing significant punches. My post accounted for the stoppage round. I think it would have been more like the first five, and less like round 6.

If you still don't understand my point, I don't know what to say. I don't know how else to explain it.

                    Nice chatting with you.
