Good thread, solid points made all around. I think what a lot of people don't even realize is that nowadats, Floyd doesn't even have the tools he had when he was younger, yet he is still by far the best welter and arguably the best Jr mw in the world.

Also how many guys have his work ethic? Hopkins, and the K brothers, thats about it in recent times. A lot of guys fall off once they get to the top and party, drink ect either get fat or on drugs inbetween fights but hes stayed on top for almost 2 decades now.

Hes cleaned out two divisions, pac was supposed to be the 2nd best all this time and it was a glorified sparring session for floyd. You have to literally go up to GGG who is 20 pounds bigger on fight night with a monster punch to find someone who stands a chance. Theres no more boogymen under 170 that they have left for floyd.

When u box like floyd (because he doesnt fight) u can last 50 years in the sport. When u fight like pacquiao u only like a handfull of prime years. Floyd knew that, thats why he waited 6 years for pacquiao to decline, gets KTFO and when hes finally distracted from politics floyd fights him and his fans act like he beat a prime undefeated pacquiao when in reality he just beat the name pacquiao, not the fighter

        Loooooooooooooooooool. So many tears.
        .
#48 should've just agreed to take the same tests he took on the 2nd May way back then.

FYI, there's no "prime undefeated" version of #48 Floyd could've fought.

He is a great fighter who has strategically planned his career and been in a position to make himself look way better than he is.
Unfortunately his haters never did help the cause because they always hyped up the wrong guys stylistically. I mean take Canelo, you can't ask for another top level fighter who is more made to order.

Floyd is extremely smart he suckered people in to thinking he was scared of Manny so they further believed that he'd lose that fight. Now all they've done is strengthen Floyds claim and strengthen his fanbases arguments.
They spent years persuading casuals Manny was the biggest threat, he wasn't and Floyd fans always knew it. Floyd fans aren't as ****** as people try make out they know styles and how boxing works.

Like I said years ago I don't blame him I blame the fans who hate on him so much and really it serves them right. Canelo, Manny they was never threats. I give him respect for beating both guys but they was never going to push him. The only fighter out there who can stand off and box with Floyd on a level is Erislandy Lara.

I think Rigondeaux, Gonzales, Lomachenko and Ward all have ATG skills too and are not that far off him at all.
            Whaaaaaa...

            Are you mad?

This is all you need to know on the subject.

Floyd Mayweather has been champion longer than those four fighters you mentioned combined. Yes, combined.

He has fought better competition than all four of those guys and he has done it for longer than the entire combined careers of those four fighters.

He was the number 1 P4P fighter in the world before all four even started their careers and he is still, right now, the number one P4P fighter in the world.

He became champion ten years before the next guy to become champion on that list, Gonzalez, and he is still champion today.

He has fought more champions than all four combined. In fact, he hasn't just fought more champs combined, he's fought more combined champions over more divisions than all four of the others combined, for longer than all four combined and he started doing it a decade before and he's still beating the best competition out of all of them today!!

It's not even a question. The fact you included a guy who got beat by 35 year old fat ass shop worn Salido and hasn't beaten a single champion in his entire faux 5 fight career should embarrass you. Before anyone says "it was too early", it may have been, but Salido was/is well past it. That's why they took it, and he'd had 8 fake pro fights anyway. So he was actually a 26 year old, incredibly experienced 10-0 prospect when he fought Salido. Not so good when looked at in perspective.

When he's stepped up beyond padded, overhyped vacant title champ and has been a proper real champion, who beat a champion for his title rather than a completely untested prospect, for five years, then I'll get it. But, he'll still have another decade to stay undefeated against the best boxing has to offer to say anything remotely like you just did.

Same for Rigo. He's going to get KTFO in the next few years. Guaranteed. He nearly got stopped in his last fight.

They are all great fighters, but they aren't even in the same stratosphere yet.

Because he is in a league of his own, he makes the rules

Cant believe people hold Lomachenko lost against him. Floyd would never have got in the ring with Salido after 1 fight as a pro.

              Floyds 2nd fight - Reggie Sanders won 12 (KO 2) + lost 47

The thread is about skill, not accomplishments

              Typical Flom0s.

Dan, what the hell are you on about? Jesus H...

The fact that the only fighter you say can stand and box on the level of Floyd is a guy who started his career five divisions above where Floyd started, is way younger, way bigger, still in his prime, started his pro career at a time when Floyd had already been champion for ten ****ing years, and was the number one P4P fighter in the world down at 135, 20 pounds below where Lara started his goddamn career, should not only tell you everything, but also how utterly, absurdly blind and bias you are.

That, and the fact that Floyd just beat the guy who beat Lara. Lara can't even get past guys like Molina, Vanes, hardly got past Angulo, and lost to the guy Floyd beat recently. Pull your head out.

Lara may win some rounds but Floyd would have a field day countering that range finding jab.
