I don't watch boxing to see athlete/business men broker deals that will give them the best advantage.

    Shameful.
The best post Ive read on this webpage. This is the true reason boxing is going to crap. Because its "fans" let it happen. All this corruption is easy to end. Stop watching this bs and make the promoters quit producing garbage fights like this fight, broner-porter catchweight, and the Khan-Algieri type fights. We let this happen.

Last June, Cotto challenged Sergio Martinez for the WBC title with a catch-weight of 159-pounds in place. For the fight with Geale, a catch-weight of 157-pounds was demanded and set in motion.

Geale is completely right. If you want to fight for the 160 title, the fight is at 160 plain and simple. I know Cotto isn't a natural middleweight and I try to give him some benefit of the doubt even though he beat a hobbled and old Sergio Martinez, one of my favorites, but you cant call yourself lineal middleweight champion and then not fight at middleweight limit. I realize technically anything over 154 is going to be listed at middleweight but it's just wrong.

wow.. I have been a Cotto fan since day one and I was one of the fans pissed about the catch weight when he fought many. This is ridiculous. I will root for him but his behavior is embarrassing.

If a smaller guy is winning against naturally bigger fighters then why are people complaining? Props to COTTO, who has the cojones to fight bigger men. In a time, when big men dont fight each other in same weight class. The guy started at 140 and fighting max at 157.

FROCH or WARD beat GGG, they'll say FROCH/WARD were the bigger man. Canelo same thing, he outgrew 154 and is killing himself to avoid a legit 160. If canelo fought GGG at 160, he'll get destroyed. 160 guys crying cause a smaller guy holds the belt and whoop the champ when others could not!

As for GGG, he's fought one weight class. How come he will not fight Andre Ward (bigger) from a long layoff? GGG knows that ward would spark that A$$ and send the hype back to 160.

Damn, choose a Weight Class, we went from 8 to 17, isnt that enough.

It seems that for these fighters, it is not. they create those new ones. 155, 157 and 172.

I hope Geale gets lucky and kicks Cotto's ass. Arrogant bastard. The whole catchweight thing is ridiculous.
