The Hagler fight was voted fight of the year though. Even when Leonard boxed he was much more entertaining to watch than Mayweather for most people. Mayweather fights are formulaic: He wins between 4-7 of the first 8 rounds and then sweeps the last 4. Happens pretty much every time. Doesn't mean he's not a great talent but he's not a great entertainer.

Also, the Hagler fight was a fight that Mayweather would never have taken in the same circumstances because he'd want to protect his '0'. That's what makes Leonard a greater fighter.

I think Leonard would be too big for Floyd, but then again, when I'm thinking of them fighting I'm picturing a current Floyd versus a prime Leonard. Current Floyd would lose(bad), but prime vs. prime it would be a heck of a matchup. Floyd in his prime had his speed and reflexes that would help offset some of the things Leonard does great. Leonard would still probably win, he's the bigger, stronger, arguably faster fighter but it wouldn't be a whitewash. We've seen Leonard pushed to the brink in fights, but we've never seen Floyd truly pushed in a fight. He may be even better than we know. Ah well, it's all fantasy at anyway.

I'm just waiting for Mancini to come out with, "Tyson KO's Floyd!" next. He seems to have a real hard on for Floyd.

What circumstances are u talking about? Do u even know the circumstances of that fight? Because if u did, u wouldn't be saying that.

Too bad leonard has been outboxed by less skilled than Floyd.

Leonard was basically Adrian Broner of his time. Fast strong and above average boxing skill. He just moved more, Floyd would have schooled him. They know it, it's why they knock his style so much, he knows he would not be able to beat that style.

Hernandez, Corrales, Gatti, Ndou, Chavez, and even Hatton were not formulaic.

As with every fighter in history, Floyd adapts his to the opponent he is facing. The problem is 95% of ppv buyers have not seen a Floyd fight before.

Why do we try to compare athletes from different eras? It's pointless! Who would win a one-on-one, MJ or LeBron? Who cares? It's all speculation! Sugar did his thing, and Floyd is still doing his. What we can say is that Floyd has dominated the sport of boxing for 19 years, and he (unlike many before him) is still the #1 P4P boxer on the planet at age 38. Go look up when the last time that happened. Go find the last fighter to be the P4P #1 at age 35 or older.

What circumstances? Moving up two weight classes after a 3 year layoff(5 years if you don't count the 1 fight he had in that time) to fight an ATG who had already made 12 consecutive defences of the title at the heavier weight. You can say what you want about Hagler's motivation at the time but whatever way you dress it up, what Leonard did was very impressive.

Sorry, I should've been more specific. He's been formulaic for the last 10 years excluding Hatton who's chin is not exactly made of iron and is there to be hit. He was more fun to watch before that for sure though. Not sure what you mean with that last sentence btw.
