Lmao it doesnt matter that the article was written in 1981....its still fact today....the only reason you think otherwise, is because you are trying to support your ******ed logic that 23 is not a prime year for athletes....Not everyone can be your hero, who somehow got stronger and faster post 30 years of age.

And I posted a article from current era, but according to you its not based on research, which it was...but what else should I expect from a moron who doesnt know a athletes prime years are 22-30.

Guess Lebron is jumping higher than ever now....f'n NFL running backs are done at 30...so please tell me they were not prime athletically their 2nd/3rd year in the league at 23 yoa

    Dumb and dumber.

@Calabis Other than Muhammad Ali, can you provide me with a list of boxers who have been diagnosed with or suffer from chronic traumatic brain injuries? I guarantee you it pales in comparison to the NFL.

Here's a list of NFL athletes who suffer from brain related injuries - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...encephalopathy

Btw, that list is still incomplete.

Yep and Floyd land even less power shots.
All his points came from slaps and miss jabs that look like it hit Manny live.

I would say Canelo was in his physical prime, but prime to me is both physical and mental. Where the two meet, mental on the way up, and physical just about to go down, is "prime".

When a fighter has all of his physical prowess and more wisdom than the young strong kids.. That's "prime".

Canelo will probably be prime at around 27-28. At 23, Canelo was not in his mental prime that's a silly thing to argue. Physical yes, mental no.

Remember, prime is where a fighter's mental and physical capabilities and powers convalesce in a momentary flash of luminescence.

To word it as a boxing scribe would.

Floyd fights are usually fights where its a relatively slow pace. Manny's fights are usually where he throws lots of punches and is active.

In this fight since the pace was more like a Floyd fight, the perception is that it must be that Floyd won since Manny didn't throw as many punches as usual. But like I said, that is the perception.

Looking at round 3 where the judges gave it to Floyd, one can see that the judges had it wrong. Yes, the pace was at a Floyd pace but even when Floyd avoids the combinations from Manny, does he really avoid them all? No! Even the commentators point out that Floyd held and avoided Manny's combinations but when you look closer, some got thru. Is Floyd's punches really connecting cleanly? The answer is no to that too. In slow-mo, one sees that Manny blocked some of those punches either partially or completely.

In round 3, for example, Manny actually had the cleaner punches and the effective punches of the round ........ but Vegas judges saw it differently....

            Like Juan Marquez said,
"but we all know how things are done when fighting Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas. In that city the officials protect him, let him do everything. Fighting him there is a burden".... "Look, do you know how Mayweather can be beaten? Only by KO and how can you KO an opponent who does not want to fight, who does not throw punches, and hits you with jabs and you have won the round but they still give it to Floyd" - Juan Marquez

The fact that Canelo has had so many professional fights at such a young age has accelerated his getting to his mental prime, he's probably close right now. If anything Canelo's big weakness is his stamina, and for that I think he needs new trainers, but I don't think he'll get new ones until after his stamina has clearly cost him a win.

If Canelo can fix a couple things he has a chance to be in his prime for a very long time.

That is what they do not get. It takes both mental and physical knowledge of boxing ...... but in Canelo's case Canelo was not prime no matter which.

                Why?

For one, it was fought at a CW. Canelo himself said that losing weight was the hardest thing that he had to do in training.
Also, in boxing you need a combination of muscles to carry you thru a fight. Canelo suffers stamina issues. That development usually comes with age and experience. Now, its possible that Canelo will never get better in this department or he gets too drained at that weight but those who have been thru those years know what I'm talking about.
