Naturaly, team Golovkin is looking for big money fights -- that is why they went for Chavez Jr, Froch, Cotto, Canelo, even Floyd. They all sell (or used to, in Jr's case).
... While Ward or Lara don't sell -- but they also seem to be the worst matchups for GGG.

Ward I'll give you. That is a real tough fight for GGG, Ward probably beats him imo. Lara on the other hand might as well stamp victim on his forhead. Angulo was able to cut the ring off and drop Lara twice. GGG will destroy Lara if they ever fight, as a boxer with no real power has little hope against someone that can cut off the ring, has good timing and monster power. I honestly don't see how people can think its a bad matchup for GGG.

Froch is 100% a limited slugger.

Got that PED power. He had that typical tight PED body that happens when a boxer comes in juiced for Groves II.

Froch is a British fighter and thus is tested all year round, they even showed him taking the test during the Froch-Groves II build up documentaries.

In fact Froch has always been one of the more outspoken boxers regarding mandatory PED tests.

Froch should take this fight and beat the man many people think is unstoppable and retire after the fight. That would be great for his legacy.

The issue is NOT compensation more than it is Career Strategy most of the time . Froch knows that a fight with GGG will pay very handsomely . Froch has to decide whether he's gonna accept the big payday and risk NOT ending his career on a high note by fighting GGG or Ward . What I see is alot of fighters avoiding other fighters and using the "financial viability" excuse to help them do it , and we the fans help them get away with it by promoting the same lame justification . PPV numbers are speculative , and I've always said that if Ward fought GGG , the PPV number would do much better than most anticipate . If they can put Manny/Algeri on PPV then ............ Speechless ! But I really don't like talking the #'s game when it comes to boxing because 1) it doesn't put a new nickel in MY pocket and 2) it tends to help to thwart great fights

I agree with you. But the fact remains that HBO will not get the Carl Froch's of the world in the ring with GGG unless they open their pockets.

Dawson was a shot weight drained zombie, far from a great win.

Ok so by that logic, If GGG goes down to 152, 153 or 154 and Mayweather beats him, you are going to be like "Mayweather beat a weigh drained zombie" even though Golovkin (just like Dawson) agreed to move down to make the fight. I would think that they would know their own bodies better than you or me huh.

Ward can make 172 for Paul Smith, then he can make it for Kovalev..

Did you not see Kathy Duva interview about her and Roc Nation having discussion for the fight next year unlike Golovkin promoter who want his fighter to feast on small guys and limited fighters. Why can't Golovkin move up to 168 to remove the weight drain excuse.

Ward should step up.

It's true, but that doesn't make Golovkin a hype job or a bum. Most fighters would lose to Ward. I think Cotto/Alvarez is going to decide when Ward/Golovkin happens, assuming Cotto beats Geale. If Cotto wins, we're going to see Ward/Golovkin real soon IMO.

GGG vs Froch would be on PPV and a big money money fight. GGG vs Ward wouldn't.

That's why Ward and Golovkin don't want to fight each other ... yet.
