Best vs best . It's not like no-one knows who golovkin is . He's big in USA clearly

he's popular on hbo among hardcore and mexican boxing fans.

that's different from being a ppv level guy. hbo can only pay so much for a fight that isn't on ppv. they won't pay a ton to play second fiddle on a broadcast from england that takes place mid day.

the bulk of revenue would have to come from british TV and gate money, the way it did with groves.

It's easy to sellout stadiums when you have 10-15 dollar seats he a big draw in UK ok but he wants a Vegas fight and that GGG vs Froch or GGG vs ward is not ppv fights here in America

There is a lot of money to be made in this fight. I'm guessing if Froch and GGG really want the fight it can be worked out. Unless this is just a publicity stunt, I don't see them coming out and saying they have asked for the fight if HBO is'nt at least willing to entertain the possibility.

Thank u for this post !!!
Any real boxing fan with at least two brain cells to rub together knows that the most exciting fights for GGG are Ward and Canelo and lastly even Froch . When boxing FANS start talking about GREAT fights not making financial sense it really grinds my gears . Stay in your f..king lane boxing fans . Stop giving the networks pro bono support not to make GREAT fights happen . R u a network owner ? Do u get a cut from HBO profits ? Do u get a cut from PPV profits ? Then why the f..k do u care how financially viable a fight is for a network ? All u should be concerned about is seeing the great fights , so if your concern instead is the financial viability of a fight , then your clearly suffering from delusions of grandure and probably r in need of many, many years of therapy .

Ward aint fighting at 168... So, GGG has to move up 12 lbs to fight Ward, but Andre doesnt want to move up 3 lbs to fight Kovalev? Double standarts doe?

Naturaly, team Golovkin is looking for big money fights -- that is why they went for Chavez Jr, Froch, Cotto, Canelo, even Floyd. They all sell (or used to, in Jr's case).
... While Ward or Lara don't sell -- but they also seem to be the worst matchups for GGG.

Part of being a fan is being a realist and understanding the business side of things. Froch is not taking this fight unless he is compensated because he doesn't have to.

Do I want to see this fight? Yes. Do fans want to see this fight? Yes.

So in order to make a fight we all want to see, somebody needs to compensate Froch so that we can get it.

Of course they want Froch. Why fight Ward (someone who would wash him all up and down in the ring) when you can fight someone who's beatable.

Golovkin fans and promoter know (THEY KNOW) that there is levels to this 5h!t and when it comes to Ward...Golovkin ain't about that life.

Let pick on limited sluggers in Froch or smaller fighters in Mayweather or Cotto.

                    WHEN WILL GOLOVKIN STEP UP?
Froch is a limited slugger? He's Ward's best win for a start. YDKSAB
