Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: We've Asked Hearn For Froch

WBA/IBO middleweight Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) has no problem with testing himself by moving up to the super middleweight division to fight Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs), according to Triple G's promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

Froch has been inactive since knocking out George Groves before 80,000 fans last May at Wembley Stadium.

Golovkin is one of the more active champions in the sport and tries to fight at least four times a year. He's already been in action twice in 2015, with knockouts of Martin Murray and Willie Monroe. A September return is being discussed.

Doubt they'll be enough money on the table to tempt Froch.

He knocked Groves out in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley, he ain't fighting for peanuts.

It's true, but that doesn't make Golovkin a hype job or a bum. Most fighters would lose to Ward. I think Cotto/Alvarez is going to decide when Ward/Golovkin happens, assuming Cotto beats Geale. If Cotto wins, we're going to see Ward/Golovkin real soon IMO.

Would Froch Golovkin not be PPV by now? I think buys would be pretty good either side of the pond. Although i'm not entirely sure just how much of a attraction Froch is in the US.

Froch in the UK is a much, much bigger fight than Ward anywhere. It's not even debatable.

Carl "Money" Froch is the most popular boxer in the UK. Ward has no fans.

Froch don't want a fight in UK he looking for a Vegas fight he stated that plenty of times and he would only rematch ward over in UK so he can get that homecooking favoritism

80,000 at Wembley. You sure? Don't think I've heard that one before, maybe Froch can tell us of that happened or not.
