Lara is not choosing Rodriguez. Haymon simply told him that he had a fight coming up, this is the date and this is who you are fighting. And you are fighting on Spike TV, not Showtime or any other big boxing network. Invite all your friends and tell them to invite all their friends and they can all get in for free.

Lara's been wanting a Cotto bout whether Haymon does protocol assignment and advisory. By fighting Rodriguez it only favors Lara to any consistency of Lara's wantings. It's not coincedence. What Loeffler is saying, is that Team GGG will not consider a fight with Lara at 154lbs. Lara must come up to 160lb for the fight to happen. Whether Lara has a bout at 160lb prior to fighting GGG (or not) was not mentioned in the article; you are merely misconstruing Loeffler's comment to suit your angle (as usual).
