we'll see. he's clearly implying that this fight will need to be a ppv. HBO already pays a lot for a golovkin fight. they paid ward close to 2 million for an edwin rodgiruez fight, and he'll obviously want more for golovkin.
as of right now, it probably wouldn't sell well.

Jay-Z is a millionaire who was willing to paid for a Korobov vs Quillin fight 1,4 million. Now he is with Ward.
But please tell us more about not enough money in Andre Ward.
In Monroe there's enough money but not in Ward?
I don't demand Golovkin to fight Ward at least not now in this situation I don't but hs promoter and Abel Sanchez need to stfu because every time they talk they think that they are the smart guys who can do the talking instead of their fighters but in reality they're only harmful to Golovkin's reputation.Last edited by HEND; 05-18-2015, 08:34 AM.

No. It really isn't.
The only guy who has nothing else to do at his division is Andre Ward. He defeated the #2 guy in Froch, and Froch wants no rematch. So naturally, fan match makers are looking for an opponent for him.
GGG, on the other hand has plenty to do at 160. He still isn't THE CHAMP at Middleweight. There is another guy calling himself the real champ (Cotto), and he is also the third biggest superstar in Boxing behind Pac and Floyd. So GGG has incentive to stay at 160, Ward doesn't.
There is also the premise that Ward has P4P type skill that are meant for climbing up through several weight classes, yet he hasn't moved up north once.

Who's the one doing big ratings on HBO right now? Who's the one drawing 10k+ crowds to arena's right now? Who's the one with the momentum right now?
Boxing is a what have you done for me lately sport, and the reality is, Ward has fallen off the map. Yes he's a a great fighter and I support him but he has to work his way back into the limelight before a fight between him and GGG can be an "event".

Here is how I view things: When GGG calls out Floyd, he has to do his part in moving down in weight to get that fight. If he were to fight Andre Ward, he still has to do his part and MOVE UP in weight to fight that fight.
It's only Andre Ward (YET AGAIN) who doesn't have to do anything. Nothing is required of Andre (moving up or down in weight). He did this with Chad Dawson (the 175 champ) and now he would hypothetically do it with GGG (the 160 Title holder).

A flat fee type purse offered from Floyd would be bigger then a 50-50 split against Ward. 5% or 10% split in a Floyd fight would be bigger then a 60-40 split in GGG's favor against Ward.
The old saying, owning 10% of something is better then owning 100% of nothing.

I would love to see this fight but I would like to see Ward create some buzz by beating a high profile opponent first in order to hype the matchup. Let him take his tuneup bout then fight someone noteworthy before taking on GGG.
I see many GGG haters asking why doesn't GGG move up to 168 to face Ward but aren't asking Ward to move up to 175 to face Kovalev.

He wants big money fights based off beating bums? One poster called him a bums beater lol. He has to be the most protected fighter in boxing at this point. His fan base should want to see him fight credible fighters.

I'm sure the offer won't come. Not because I think Ward is scared of GGG, but because Roc know that they would lose money if they staged it now.
If they wait awhile it could become a much bigger fight that would make money for the promotors as well as the fighters.
