    i'd be shocked if he can get there. he was 178 as an amateur, and hasn't fought at 160 since '06; nearly 10 years ago.

            if GGG is as big of a superstar as his fans make him out to be it could be done on PPV next year and do okay enough to make a profit. Why would they though when HBO gives him $1.5 million for easy defenses and allow him to fight 4 times a year?

                triple duck strikes again

                ward doesn't make "financial sense" for triple duck ..well triple duck doesn't make financial sense for Mayweather, so stop calling him out

                GGG = duck soup

                  If Jay Z knew so much about promotion, he would not have Ward fighting Paul Smith on BET. Not that Jay Z has a damn thing to do with the boxing operations to begin with.
                  What are you arguing about? Do you agree that the fight should happen down the road and be on PPV when it does or not?

                    He already beat Froch next!! Team ggg sounds scared. When ever it comes to Ward or Lara they always have an excuse... Do they ever sound confident their guy can win? Hell no

                      It's still a great fight that I want to see, but I understand the logic here.

                      Ward needs to ramp things back up, win a couple of fights against good names. He wasn't a huge draw even before all of the inactivity.

                      Also I still respect GGG's plight to completely clean out 160. I don't think he should move up to 168 until he does it. It's not on GGG that Cotto is a smaller fighter who happens to be a recognized champion for the 160 lbs. division. It's a consequence of Cotto picking Martinez and beating his knees out from under him.
