lol at GGG lovers justifying Cotto, Floyd and Canelo vs GGG and saying that there is no $$ in a Ward fight.
GGG ducking Ward is so obvious that its not funny. He wants the smaller fighter to come to him but he will not move up ONE div to fight a top 5 P4P?? and set his resume, Ward would top anything in GGG resume, heck, GGG does not have anything that would approach 1/2 the caliber in Ward, not ONE.
His fan boys all over GGG nuts when not one win in his resume is good enough to wear Ward jockstrap around their necks! What a joke! No money? lol!!!
If Cotto said that there is no money in fighting GGG you delusional fanboys will be calling him a duck. *** out here with that double standard bs!!!
Weil said - it's funny how every smaller fighter Golovkin calls out is a coward for not immediately raising their hand but when he gets called out by the guy in the very next division you suddenly get Golovkin's supporters becoming financial advisors and the like in his defense. No double standard here. You want a preview of what Ward will do? Take a look at Golovkin's busted up face after his bout against the limited 154 lbr. Gabe Rosado. Now imagine that with the vastly superior (in every way) Ward in front of him. That's what Golovkin's handlers envision as well - bursting of hype balloon and end of HBO broadcasting team's schoolgirl crush.
Exactly !
The only thing I will add is this tidbit from elishua F.....
mr. Duck Soup doesn't make financial sense for Mayweather, but that doesn't stop him from calling him out.....
The only thing worse than Golovkin saying " Ward doesnt make financial sense "..... are fanboys who repeat that rubbish.
Golovkin would become a super-star if he beat Andre Ward.
If Golovkin is anywhere near as good as his people say..... then he just walked away from an amazing opportunity to become a PPV star.
He would become a much bigger star, and it would be a more profitable venture, than getting a couple milly more to fight Chavez lol.
I listened to the whole interview. Loeffler was explaining that Ward would demand a big purse for that fight and obviously Golovkin would too, so it would have to be a PPV fight as those purse demands wouldn't fit into the budget for HBO...and Ward doesn't have enough buzz right now to make it a lucrative ppv fight. I would love to this fight, but what hes actually saying (not just the headline) makes sense.
Don't expect people on NSB to read this lol. They just read the headlines.
All these pages later and still...
What Loeffler is saying is true though, I guess people really do just read the headlines. All you gotta do is some quick match to see this fight would have to go on PPV:
Ward gets $2m+ for tune up fights
GGG $1.5 for Monroe
Ward would ask for a lot more to fight a name like GGG.
GGG would get a pay increase from Monroe.
So you're looking at a $4m purse if we're lucky. That doesn't include undercard, site fee, etc etc etc. Would HBO put up that kind of cash for this fight? I don't think so, not with Hershman running HBO and working with a smaller budget. This fight would have to go to PPV. Can't happen right now. But it can in the future and it most likely will.
