  • I don't claim to be an expert regarding the particulars of how the financial boxing world works , but I do know 3 things for sure ;

    1) there's no bigger money fights than GGG/Ward and GGG/Alverez
    2) HBO is cheap as f..k and kills fights because they don't like to fork up much money .
    3) If Ward and GGG signed a contract today to agree to fight this coming Saturday on PPV , it would be more money than GGG has ever earned in one single fight even with less than a week to promote it .

    I'm really sick and tired of the boxing world severely underestimating the numbers of what a GGG / Ward fight would bring in . While everyone always talks about the "casual fan" , its important to remember that the real boxing fans/enthusiast r the ones who convey the message to the casual fans that a mega fight is coming . Since WE (the true boxing fans) know that a GGG/Ward fight is a mega fight , I'm sure it will be well conveyed to the casual boxing fan and therefore do very healthy #s . Plus , that fight carries all of the racially devisive elements that White American loves ; A dominant Black fighter who can potentially be dethroned by a dominant European fighter !

        Youre definitely no expert lol. So why write a novel about how clueless you are? Wards next fight is on BET, and while GGG is becoming a draw, hes not Ppv yet, until he defeats a PPV guy. Canelo is Ppv, Chavez is, Froch is in the UK.

        Right now Ward vs GGG is not financially viable for either side. Not even for Wards new promoter, who got money to burn

            Loving it.

              • Still asking. Both fighters have guys in their ear telling them they can make more off this fight than is on the table. The money isn't there yet.

                  If I'm no expert then ur the Skip Bayless of boxing analysis . Ward is fighting on BET because he's black and racist HBO won't air one single tuneup for him while almost all GGG fights are tuneups and HBO is happy to air them all . It's called racism and its an inconvenient truth most people like yourself don't like facing or talking about . Even if u say its because GGG ratings have been better than Wards , even that speaks to my point as White American would rather see a newly arrived immigrant European who knows no English on a prime network like HBO before an American champion like Ward ( just because he's black ) go sit ur azz down somewhere if ur gonna refuse the acknowledge the racial underpinnings behind the sport .
