He can slip punches and make himself difficult to catch cleanly when he feels it's necessary. Some fighters enjoy a tear-up though, and I think GGG is one of them.

But if he wants to keep fighting 4 times year he needs to start being more careful. Even punches that don't rock or hurt you can cause cuts that take weeks to heal. And forgetting about defence because you have a good chin is a bad habit to pick up.

Cotto is a coward for not fighting him and Mayweather is scared for not going up to face him at 154, however, Golovkin shouldn't have to fight Ward because Ward was a light heavyweight in the amateurs and is too big. No, instead Ward is told to go up and fight the much larger Kovalev. The 'logic' some people post with here is amazing. It's starting to look like Kellerman is logging in under multiple aliases.
cotto is a champion is golovkin's division

alvarez technically fights within the middleweight limits already

golovkin offered to drop a full weight division to fight mayweather at a weight where mayweather currently holds two titles

so the situations are not analogous at all. if golovkin was fighting at super middleweight or ward was offering to fight golovkin at 160 lbs maybe you'd have a point. as things stand, ward's next fight will technically fall within the light heavyweight limits - kovalev territory

      • I agree; I think GGG is an extremely smart fighter (as Barry Robinson has laid out so well in his Youtube videos)...so I hate to see him deliberately taking punches. It's really ******.

No Broner defense isn't good either.

            • ugh, you fl0mos are ****ing disgusting.

Great fight, good card all around. When other fighters offer excuses why they couldn't excite, or why they take 100 dollars from people just to jab on the backfoot...Golovkin delivers consistently. Golovkin offers no such excuse; he makes the necessary adjustments and his opponent's survival instincts or style is not a factor in the outcome of the fight.

                get real.

last couple weeks have been fun fights but people are acting like thats what boxing needs i.e. mismatches set up to create KOs. Same people then complain when we have two evenly matched foes that end up going the distance

                • The responses show people are not fans of the actual sport.

If Man City brutalised a team like Derby, people wouldn't talk about it saving football. They would see it as a giant crushing a dwarf and take very little note of it. People salivating at the mouth shows that people are more interested in seeing harm committed than the actual sport itself.

Did not think much of Golovkin vs Monroe or Canelo vs Kirkland. Both were mismatches and both fighters need to be held to the standard their hype necessitates.

                  • when is the next fight with evenly matched opponents where the winner isn't known before the 1st round bell?

I like knockouts as much as everyone but mismatches isn't going to save boxing (not that it needs saving)

get real? about what? This isn't an ideological issue, I didn't at all suggest this was what boxing needed. But I am calling it like it is; scroll through the first 5 pages, fl0mos doing nothing but hating, gtfoh with that bull****. It's disgusting and transparent cause we all know why they're doing it.
