GGG seems to enjoy putting on a Big Drama Show by standing in front of his opponent and taking their punches before firing back himself. What surprised me was that Monroe tried to punch it out with him on the inside instead of clinching and smothering.

It certainly made for an exciting fight. I just wish the millions of casual fans who tuned in to the "fight of the century" had watched this one instead.

Boxing needs more fights like this and more colourful characters like GGG to win back the fans it's lost over the last 15/20 years.

The real question is how fast would Max Kellerman run and dive for Golovkins dink if he saw it out?

Because we all know it takes a "real man" to stand and trade with a guy with 6 career KOs, and who's claim to fame is winning ESPN's Boxcino tourney.

GGG reminds me of Pacquiao during his years waiting for the Floyd fight. Not focussed. Total disrespect for opposition. GGG needs the big names. He's just playing with all these B level guys. He could overplay his hand one night...like Pacquiao did!

as i recall, he did the same thing against adama and there was a big backlash against him on nsb after that fight as well. i don't think he can motivate himself to take opponents of that calibre seriously any more. he usually looks better against the "b level" fighters like murray, rubio, geale, macklin, etc., than he does against the "c level" fighters like monroe jr and adama. can't wait to see how he tackles an "a level" opponent - i hope he proves capable of maintaining a tighter defence. letting someone like froch tee off on him would be a recipe for disaster.

So let me get this straight - Canelo should go up in weight to face Golovkin, former 140 lbr. Cotto is a coward for not fighting him and Mayweather is scared for not going up to face him at 154, however, Golovkin shouldn't have to fight Ward because Ward was a light heavyweight in the amateurs and is too big. No, instead Ward is told to go up and fight the much larger Kovalev. The 'logic' some people post with here is amazing. It's starting to look like Kellerman is logging in under multiple aliases.

so GGG defense sucks because a light puncher landed some shots? i still remember they were saying that broner took punches from paulie because he knew he couldn't hurt him, but GGG didn't, his defense just sucks
