Humans are emotional animals. Alot of people take it personal and get emotional when it comes to Floyd Mayweather (such as yourself), both his supporters and detractors. The emotion people hold in regards to Floyd is rather extreme and uncalled for IMO, the man is just a man and his life has no real impact on mine, but whatever. The casual fans don't hold the same emotional attachment (positive or negative) with the more "exciting, thrilling fighters" so they aren't shelling out $$ for PPV.

why is that? that's another conversation on why boxing's popularity has waned in recent years. which leads me to another tangent...too many PPVs in boxing. PPV should be reserved for the biggest fights of a given year. Not merely a big name vs his next opponent.

That is pretty grim, he would still probably get Lemiuex first but as a Canelo left over. Which diminishes it a lot, but it would set up that fight so that could be the 1.5 year plan while Canelo is the 2 year plan.

What is the problem? GGG will concede to all the petty demands and give up the lionshare. "GGG don't sell" - BULLSHIT. He is one of the next biggest stars. "One dimensional, no skillz" - BULLSHIT! AM record of 345-5.. just take a moment and think about those numbers, those fights, for a second..
Prove what greatness? That's already done.

        • I would laugh if Golovkin ran and held his way to a split decision win on Saturday.

Ok, so you are afraid that "The Best Ever" might get outweighed by 10lbs come fight night? What does Floyd weigh on the day of his fights, BTW?

How ****** would anybody sound saying Floyd beat Pacquiao the other night because he outweighed him on fight night?

Go do your homework and understand why weigh-ins were moved to the day before in the first place. That rips your whole "160 basically meant 160" argument out the window!

He is flat footed, throws wide looping shots, is open for counters and body shots, etc. I'm convinced based on some things I have seen he begins to break down mentally when he cant hurt or finish his opponent and is getting tagged himself. His pressure and decent punching power is why he has been successful thus far. Once a smart fighter with heart, determination, a punch and a chin, takes that away from him attacks and breaks him down mentally, he will panic fall apart, and he will be badly exposed.
(Gasp!) Please! Enlighten us oh wise one! Who is is this smart fighter with heart, determination, punch and chin you speak so highly of???

What separates imitation from the real thing is actual ring IQ and the reflexes. Golovkin doesn't have the reflexes of Floyd, and he hits hard and doesn't have hand injuries so there is no need to fight like Mayweather. He is also not even in a good weight class or a size disadvantage. If GGG were to go up 24lbs like Floyd did or even to LHW, he would be singing a different tune vs a guy like Kovalev at LHW or Drozd at CW. Then we'll see the 5'10" and a half GGG who would be at a 15+ pound disadvantage on fight night fighting Mexican style or if he will fight smart against much bigger guys who can take his punches and KO him if they catch him.

Mayweather vs Maidana for instance, Mayweather was 148lbs and Maidana was 165lbs, for a 17lb disadvantage. If GGG fought someone that big who was also a good puncher and swarmer, with a high pain threshold, he would get on his bike and wouldn't be any where near as stationary as Floyd was, ****ing it away with Maidana. GGG gets hit so much that he would get KO'ed if he actually fought a puncher who was 17lbs bigger than him.

This is all coward talk. Move up in weight to taste size disadvantage and fight more powerful guys who can take your punch. The tough talk with Ishida, Rosado, Stevens, Geale, Monroe on your resume is weak. Let me see you and your ****** Mexcian style vs Kovalev or at Cruiserweight.
Wrong. Kovalev is much bigger guy who kills to make weight at Light Heavy. So therefore he puts on weight on fight night but I don't know how much more he puts on. Let's presume 15lbs, so that's 190lbs on fight night or possibly more.

Maidana is also natural 147 pounder (maybe Jr. Middleweight at best) who just bloats up to 165lbs. I don't think he benefits as much as a bigger guy from higher weight class coming to down to make the weight at 147lbs. (I hope I make sense there.)

Which raises another very important point, Canelo and Golovkin weight almost the same on fight night. Remember that Canelo is a Jr. Middleweight and he have already fought Mayweather, so why Golovkin shouldn't challenge Mayweather if he can make the weight at 154lbs?

Another point is Golovkin is natural middleweight and so is Mayweather at welterweight. Chavez is probably the only guy that could weight 20lbs more on fight night at middleweight. So how can you defend this?

LOL @ 10 pounds. Try 20. And even if they weren't 160 in the ring fighting they were closer to it than fighters nowadays who are full strength, solid, healthy light heavyweights by the time the bell rings.
