It is pretty close, but yea it should be like Hagler Leonard, if one side wants more money they have to give up the other things (gloves, ring size, location, ect.). If the money is even then everything else should be pretty evenly split.

Canelo easily. Cotto fought Floyd after many years on HBO and PPV and did a great number of 1.5 million. Canelo fought Floyd in his first PPV and it did 2.2 million and held the revenue record until this year. Trout schooled Cotto, Canelo won easily. Cotto did horrible numbers against the man at 160 at the time and guy that had been on PPV before. Canelo did similar numbers in a non title fight against an unknown and boring Lara.
If he wins Cotto has to decide if he wants to lose his title against GGG or the young ginger. Either way he gets his ass beat. He will make much more $$$ fighting Canelo though.

maypac average 1.18mill and then the main event rounded off to 2.2 mill viewers. your trying to hard to discredit Canelos superstar status. Whether you like it or not hes gonna be carrying boxing next like DLH n Floyd/Pac were. Cotto is on his way out and deal with it.

HBO ketp trashing the floyd-pac fight... people tuned in to the free replay to see what the hype was about.... and that's when you que HBO in to say, "well if you think that wasn't exciting wait till this fight coming next" (talking about canelo-kirkland)...

So casuals tuned in to see "the difference"

except that they probably didn't know that kirkland's chin is terrible and that he's been tko'd before in the 1st round by a light punching asian.

why is it so important to canelo fans to have the fight in "home turf"?

I'm not a big Canelo fan at all, if anything I used to dislike the kid and I really loved watching Cotto when he was coming up (he had a great jab and awesome body shots). But Cotto has lately turned into a big diva (I was never a fan of his attitude outside the ring to begin with anyway), but now it unbearable tbh.
Meanwhile, Canelo has earned my respect by taking some good challenges and I think we are in good hands with this kid whether you like it or not and whether he wins or loses his loyal fans will always be there for him.

Plus a fight in Vegas, California or even Texas have better atmospheres than NY imo. I'm not even from the West Coast, but there is something about the fans there that is just amazing (Not saying NY fans aren't great).

I'm sure GGG would fight Cotto in NY tho

There are only two times Canelo didn't go on before or after Floyd, both times he got 300k buys. Cotto without Floyd did 1.25 million with Manny and 600k with Margarito, 500k the first time with Marg. 450k with Mosley... Even Martinez did more than Canelo has done at 350k.

All this doesn't matter anyway, Canelo is going to duck Cotto again. Cotto has a fight in 3 weeks and Canelo is already out there saying I only fight on "this day." lol

Like 250, what's your point? The fact that he had worse buy rates? Cotto has like 7 times the PPV buys of Canelo... Using their lowest numbers Canelo did 50k more. Using their highest (not involving Floyd) Canelo did 1 million less... Take out Pac too? Canelo still did half of what Cotto did.

Only 5 states that I think could legitimately host this fight. If they fight in NYC or NJ, cotto is the A side. Anywhere else-Texas, California, Nevada-it's Canelo.
