Sports fans are generally pretty crazy -- probably has something to do with shortcomings in their own lives or failure to achieve their own dreams. But combat sports bring out the craziest of the crazies.

I don't give anyone a pass for what they have achieved in the past. It is what they are doing now that matters. If Cotto cannot tow the line, he should walk away. No pass from me. There are obligations and responsibilities that come with a title belt. Either you accept them or you drop the belt and allow someone willing to carry it proudly to do so.

Cotto thinks he is bigger than the sport and he is sadly mistaken. Boxing was here long before he was born and will be here long after he is dead and forgotten and nothing but a name in the record books.
