If I'm gonna pay you $50 million for 3 fights and so far this upcoming fight won't earn me SH%$#T then I'm going to expect YOU to fight some big names so I can get my investment money back PLUS profits. Let's see, fighting Floyd will be too risky cause most likely I won't get my money back, actually I might lose money because people might not care for a rematch but even worse, if Canelo fights on that same date for free on HBO or ppv then I will for sure lose MILLIONS. SO my only 2 choices are fighting GOLOVKIN or CANELO. BIGGEST audience will be with Canelo but biggest cash % for cotto will be with Golovkin. SO no matter what COTTO says he WILL be pressured to fight one of this two big names, NO WAY OUT of it.

Please. Roc Nation are allowing Ward to fight an empty, rusted tomato can on BET. They don't care what Cotto does or who he fights. IF they did, they would have stood up long ago and told him "Listen. We've invested $50 million in you and you will damn well accept your mandatory defense against Golovkin and start earning your keep." Instead it was more like "We'll help you find the easiest opponent possible and help you hide from the real competition as long as we possibly can."

They probably told cotto that. Cotto doesn't negotiate or tell his contractual obligations to the media like arum does for example.
