How does this prove he never wanted it with khan? If anything this shows he would fight khan lol. He wanted him at 144

He knows Khan has grown into a fully fledged welterweight. Broner has been quoted as saying that weight doesn't win fights, skill does. He has also said he'd have no problem fighting at 147 again. Where was he going to fight this alleged rematch with Maidana? 144?

Broner needed a big name and Porter is desperate enough to drain himself to make this fight happen.
