OK, I admit it...I thought Kirkland would win by being careful, protecting his chin, and bringing Canelo into later round, then opening up and KO'ing him.

I was wrong. Kirkland is damaged goods with or without Ann Wolf. You can't fight face first with a porcelain chin.

I'm not taking anything away from Alvarez. The KO was a thing of beauty.....first touching the body with a low left jab, bringing Kirklands hands down, then a phenomenal right that devastated his opponent.

The whole reason Canelo walked away the first time was because he didn't want to fight in NY this June. It's why he ended up fighting Kirkland in Texas lol.

Cotto's own manager said he was told Canelo would have no problem making the fight in NYC.
The reason the first fight failed was because Canelo didn't want to wait on Cotto. Cotto at the time was negotiating his massive deal with Roc Nation so it's understandable why he didn't want to sign the fight right away with Canelo. But at the same time I doubt Canelo knew that Cotto was in the middle of negotiating with Roc Nation so he moved on to another opponent. He didn't want to be left with out an opponent in case Cotto decided to fight someone else, like say Mayweather at the time.

Kirkland was KO'd faster by a guy with 8 KO's, just stop. The guy has been dropped and visibly hurt worse than Khan has. They have the same number of KO's, the only reason Khan isn't hurt as much is because he actually has some boxing ability. This was a guy who's best win is Angulo a D class fighter and hasn't fought in 18 months without a trainer he does best with. This was essentially rob salka/Garcia albeit with guys of equal size. Everyone knew it was Canelo by KO early, anyone that knows ANYTHING about boxing knew it would like this.
