She DIDN'T campaign for the purse bid. She campaigned for Kovalev to be made mandatory for Stevenson and asked that if it went to a purse bid, it should be a 50/50 split.

She didn't know that the purse bid was going to happen as soon as Stevenson beat Bika. GYM/Haymon asked for that, not Duva. I'm not defending Kathy, she made a mistake, and that's why she had to pull Kovalev out.

But she has also made a counter offer to Stevenson. He can STILL fight Kovalev if he wants to, on HBO ppv. Does that sound like a duck to you?

No she didn't. read the articles again my friend, she outlined the paramaters of a possible deal but never made a counter offer.

Sorry dude but you have no leg to stand on. You should have the decency to call Kov all the names you called Adonis.
Ok, if you want to be ultra pedantic about it, she wrote Michel a letter offering to negotiate a deal with him for the fight to happen on HBO. Even Michel himself confirmed that.

The fact remains, Kovalev wants the fight and is willing to negotiate to make it happen, IF Stevenson wants it too.

LOL at the ******ed Stevenson nuthuggers.

Stevenson is an irrelevant glass chinned coward. He ducked Kovalev, Hopkins and Pascal.

Kovalev is the undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world. He calls the shots.

Stevenson needs to grow some balls and stop ducking the best light heavyweight in the world Sergey Kovalev.

        Kovalev easily destroys Stevenson.

Duva scored an own goal. Kov needs better advisers and a better deal with HBO, so when the opportunity comes up again they dont blow it for him.

Pedantic. see what I mean-you mistakenly post something, I correct you, and you make it about me rather than just being an adult and saying ok, my bad. Come on dude! Duva never made a counter offer-she said so, Michel said so. why you posted she did is beyond me.

Stop getting mad at me because duva/kov walked away from the fight. Given his most recent actions, its silly to argue he wants the fight, even if you want it for him.

this is incorrect. Stevenson is the lineal LHW champ. Kov is the #1 contender.

It is obvious to me that Kovalev pulled out because of contracts and finances. While, Adonis pulled out because he feared the a$$ whopping that he knew was coming his way.

Poor Mohammedi - the guy is actually a pretty solid fighter who I'd say has improved since his earlier losses. He ain't elite by any stretch but he certainly ain't a soft touch either. However, it's clear that NSB would much rather discuss the ongoing Kovalev - Stevenson saga for the umpteenth time rather than sticking to the topic at hand.

She offered to negotiate a deal with GYM for the fight to happen on HBO.

The biggest fight to be made in the light heavyweight division… will have to wait a little longer, it seems. Efforts to get World light heavyweight king Adonis Stevenson and unbeaten three-belt titlist Sergey Kovalev in the ring have proven to be an uphill struggle. The latest chapter in their growing rivalry now points to the eventual cancelation of a purse bid hearing scheduled for Friday, April 17. “Today we have communicated with the WBC and Yvon Michel. We informed the WBC that, while Sergey Kovalev is more anxious than ever to face Adonis Stevenson in order to become the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion by the end of 2015, he will not participate in the purse bid for the unification bout that has been ordered by the WBC,” confirmed Kathy Duva, CEO of Main Events. As a result, Kovalev will forfeit his position as mandatory challenger to Stevenson’s WBC title. However, the withdrawal from the purse bid did not come without a counter offer. “In a letter to Yvon Michel, we proposed to make a voluntary deal for Sergey to fight Adonis Stevenson on HBO or HBO PPV on a 50/50 basis,” informed Dvua. “In this proposal we have included provisions to determine how the various aspects of the promotion would be decided and conducted. These provisions have worked successfully in the past when Main Events participated in co-promotions of bigger events than this one with Top Rank, Golden Boy and Don King, among many others. “Based upon Mr. Michel’s recent statements to the media, we were very happy to learn that no contractual prohibitions exist that would prevent Adonis from fighting Sergey on HBO. So let’s make the fight!”

Kathy Duva says she wants to get a deal done to make Stevenson-Kovalev, but the timing isn’t right.
