People just dont get it.

Kovalev's side was pushing hard for a Stevenson fight, talking crap, saying Stevenson was ducking(Which he was) but when the chance came to actually make the fight happen, they walked away.. and thats what people remember

this whole fiasco is ridiculous the whole fact they begged for a purse bid then pulled out should not be overlooked. they asked for one hoping stevenson would pull out so they could play the "see hes ducking us game" absolutely ridiculous. Im tired of fighters riding on the names of other fighters pretending the other fighter is ducking them when in reality they have no intention to fight im tired of it. its ridiculous they would request a purse bid then pull out and i dont want to hear any dam excuses they knew everything when asking for the purse bid nothing changed. the bottom line is main event and kovalov got caught and were shocked that haymon and stevenson was gonna go thru with the purse bid and they were exposed. the fact people are not calling this for what it is really disappoints me and shows how far fans will go to say a boxer is chicken or ducking or whatever while at the same time giving another fighter and their team excuses. it just seems like everytime a fighter is the one that everyone thinks is being ducked turns out to be the one doing the ducking and just feeding off gullible fans who fall for this crap. Now kovalav is fighting an overmatched opponent and im sure after the fight they will try to say stevenson is ducking and that it has to be on hbo etc etc its all bs and somehow people fall for this **** over and over and over

Kovalev, along with GGG and Pacquiao are held to different standards here

My unpopular opinion was that Pacquiao wanted no part with Mayweather prior, Golovkin wants no part of Andre Ward, and for now atleast, Kovalev wants no part of Stevenson

I blame promoters, but these fighters dont get called out when they're behaving counterproductive, people will quickly name all the fighters that are ducking GGG, but are quick to ignore that hes....kinda ducking Ward. Seeking smaller fighters two divisons below him, and ignoring moving up one division to face the one fighter that makes sense for him

I dont know why fans think these face first punchers are in such a rush to face a slick boxer.... Punchers know what they are, and know their limitations

Far as I know, Pascal would be possibly in the under-card, so then the promoters negotiate a possible Kovalev-Pascal II. There's no way Stevenson and Kovalev fight each other, 'cause Adonis is scheduled to fight two tomato cans in September and December.

But they didn't beg for the purse bid, did they? GYM/Haymon did that , because they knew it would leave Duva no alternative but to pull Kovalev out.

Kavalev was mad keen to fight Superduck last year. Why would he be scared of him now, after seeing Stevenson getting floored by Fonfara and taken the distance in a very poor fight by Bika?
