I like Keith but I don't give him much of a chance, really just a puncher's chance (though he does throw a harder punch than any of Floyd's last opponents IMO).

I would prefer this over a Garcia fight though for sure. After Garcia's last few fights it's clear he's not worthy of a Mayweather shot.

Khan is interesting because of his speed and boxing ability, plus the huge following he has. Also his chin makes it interesting because it gives Floyd a chance to retire with a KO victory.

After this last paycheck, and based on his post-fight interviews, he's not going to decide based on who nets him the biggest paydays. They're all essentially the same anyway. He'll get about $35m guaranteed regardless.

1. It's been rumored for months now that Thurman was going to fight Porter in a WW showdown as the June 20th PBC headliner. Now it's been confirmed via Fight Hype that Broner will be replacing Thurman, and will face Porter on that same date at a possible catchweight. Is it just a coincidence that Thurman is now free?

2. Floyd is always harping on about how it's time for the younger generation to take over the game. He's always giving them great opportunities to shine, even if it means facing them on the big stage.



3. Thurman has called out Floyd on numerous occasions. He is not afraid to slug it out with the best of the best. He's not just using the media to piggyback off of Floyd's name like others' have in the past. He's legitimately eager to take on the P4P King.

4. Who else is available? No one wants to see a lopsided win against #48 again. Khan cannot make the fight, and no one wants to see the chinny bum get schooled. He's not a middleweight, so bringing up Cotto and Golovkin is pretty ******.

Thurman is a viable option, but so are Kell Brook (if he beats Gavin in style at the end of the month), Danny Garcia, and Amir Khan (if he beats Algieri in style and is available for the fight).

Thurman dealing with that hematoma (still had the raccoon eyes when interviewed post-Mayweather fight) probably eliminated that June fight long ago, tbh.
