I probably left out the most important fact. Thurman is actually DESERVING, like all of Floyd's prior opponents.
He's no LWW moving up in weight.
He's not a drained SWW forced to come down in weight. He's a BIG Welterweight with SKILL and POWER.
He's undefeated with a pretty solid streak against some tough WW's. No real "big names" on his resume, but he's still battle tested. And last but not least he hold's a couple of belts.Comment

That is true, however he is currently being pent up as the next WW "boogeyman" but I honestly believe he has more skill than the prior boogeymen of the WW division. He's definitely got some boxing skill, and he can actually jab. To top things off, everything he throws with comes with power behind it. He can fight as the aggressor but he's also shown that he's able to dictate the pace on the back foot too. Even if it's not as great as other counter punchers. But we do have to remember he's a boxer-puncher so that's expected.Comment

And secondly, I don't give ANY WW much of a chance to beat Floyd. However, when broken down extensively, I feel that Thurman has the best chance to put up a decent fight against the undefeated maestro of boxing.Comment

It pains me to say this because the guy drives me nuts, but I think Amir Khan poses the biggest threat to Floyd. He might be the only welterweight who poses any threat, honestly. I would still favor Floyd, but I have a hard time imagining how that fight would play out in my head. Amir's hand speed and combinations, not to mention his new Virgil Hunter-approved clinching habit, make him a very frustrating opponent.Comment
