Can't say I know what the future holds for him , but so far he's been a pleasure to watch and seems to have the right attitude (he mentioned after his last fight that he needs to earn a p4p spot by facing and beating p4p fighters). He's talented, skilled, young, and exciting to watch so I look forward to watching how he develops as he faces better and better competition. he also has a very early pro loss which could help to keep both himself and boxing fans honest.Last edited by Swarmfan; 05-06-2015, 10:08 AM.Comment

Lazy poll...
Not enough options, too polarised.
Depends on what you call a "believer" and "non-believer". Do I believe that he is talented and will do good in the future? Yes. Do I believe that the hype around him is deserved and he will be a future P4P star? Based on what saw from him so far: hell no. I don't give a single fuck about anybody's amateur resume, in the pros everyone starts from zero for me, Loma is no exception and I think that this sickening hype (4-1 resume and people already put him on P4P lists and call gim future P4P star) is exist because his amateur record. If you wouldn't know about that he would be just another talented prospect.
Now go watch his 5 pro fights, and tell me what you see.
Watch his fight with Salido.....Salido had what 20lb on him fight night? And Salido is a damn good veteran and watch that fight.
The kid is special.
I'd give Rigo the nod at this very moment, but its true he was born in 1980 he's getting old and for how long he has been in the sport and the little exposure and promotion that he has received it's highly unlikely he will become a big star.......which ****ing sucks because he is an incredible talent.Last edited by Banderivets; 05-06-2015, 12:24 PM.Comment

I feel sorry for the Russian boxing fans. All of your fighters are either obscenely racist, afraid to step up in competition, or show no skill whatsoever. Loma is of the ladder portion. He's truly NOTHING special at all and shows no signs of being anything special in the future. Please tell me what this guy has done or what he does that's extraordinary?Comment

Record doesn't mean much, in terms of the numbers. At 4-1 he already has a better resume than some guys with 20-0 resumes or such. If Loma was brought up the standard pro way, he could probably have reached 40-0 before fighting a Salido type fighter, and won with all that experience. He took that huge risk in his 2nd fight, and I really don't see anyone that would be beating a guy like Salido in their 2nd fight, not based off of skill level, but simply the experience gap, as well as everything else against him on the night (Salido's weight, constant fouling etc).Comment

You're right he wasn't on point. However what's really strange for me that it seems like on this site the fanbase of Ukranian and Russian fighter (and Golovkin) are pretty the same and I don't really see that they support any other fighters. And yeh a war going on right now between them so it feels particularly strange.
I like to watch most fighters indiscriminately, regardless of race or nationality...I just like to see good fights.
BUT, of course, I am not ashamed to admit I want my own countrymen to do better especially...but that's normal.Comment

That's the whole point of this particular poll - it is meant to not allow people to be half-hearted and say 'possibly' or 'maybe, if'. Anyone can say that. Clearly, it is almost a certainty that he 'could' be. It is about seeing who truly believes he will make it to P4P#1, or he won't. When it happens or it doesn't, we can see who was right or wrong and that's the fun.

Lomochenko beat salido easily on that night, and thats factoring in his fouls and being 10 stone over the weight limit....Comment
