To understand what I'm saying though, you have to understand that fighting off the backfoot also coincides with infighting.
those instances vs morales happened when yes, he didn't know how to fight backing up, i haven't seen them since morales I and few more times in morales II

i dont know what you're talking about vs bradley, bradley lost every round where he was the aggressor except for the 4th in the rematch, you can only mean the breaks, which every fighter takes, one moment it can be a clinch, and to not spam it the next could be just covering up

i consider pacquiao the best today at fighting backwards, aslong as he has some fight left in him he'll destroy any fighter trying to take the fight to him, can you name anyone else fighting today that dodge punches while throwing punches of his own in combinations all while on the move? pacquiao is a phenom at fighting on the retreat

What? Mayweather can't use reflexes even on the inside!? Have you ever watched him fight?

look at how quick and sneaky pac is with that over hand left on the inside. floyd is going to have to watch out for that if he tries and get on the inside with pac. and bradley is a pretty good inside fighter same with rios.

look at pacquiao moving backwards, landing combinations on the inside. very impressive work from pac. people say pac can't fight going backwards and that he can't fight inside??? hahahahahhaha

a good example of pacquiao landing combinations and turning his opponent. a lot of confusion for a guy like bradley. and i think all that turning is what hurt bradley's ankle. most guys can't keep up with pac's movement on the inside.
awesome ability to fight backing up

here's a great clip of pacquiao's in and out fighting style while backing up(although as tenma pointed out, it's easier to do this to the likes of rios)

no inside came and cant defend an uppercut to save his life, but he really hasnt had to fight on the inside much because people get tagged up trying to get there

Not so much inside game from Pacquiao.

The majority of fighters are either inside fighters or outside fighters.

Anybody who has ever done any kind of fighting can tell you that the middle range is the most difficult range to pull off consistently because fights are always moving and the middle range is pretty much a small window of opportunity.

Pacquiao is a mid range fighter. His in and out movement is what enables him to perform in this range.

People who use the "Pacquiao has no inside game" as a way to trash Manny's skill either have never fought, or they lack the mental ability to understand the middle range of combat.

It's utterly ridiculous when they say he can't fight backing up lol, they keep going back to the first morales fight.

They forget Manny's destructive reign was when opponents came right at him

                  Can't fight going back yo!

I do agree he can't defend an uppercut on the inside though 12tribes lol

Like the great Eddie Futch said when someone suggested Diego Corrales do similar things and try to injure Floyds shoulders, arms and elbows. He said "I guess he thinks he's going to stand there and let him hit him on the arms all night,"
Pacquaio is fast enough to deliver those upper cuts

It's like this. Nobody is beating him by working inside because it's almost impossible to keep him on the inside or get to him without eating punches. Rigondeaux has no inside game, so does wlad, Kovalev too. Guess what the guys I mentioned keep winning and don't need to fight on the inside.
