GBP preparing to file suit against Haymon

haymon has worked with numerous promoters. i dunno why ppl keep perpetrating this lie. the only ones he doesnt work with at this time are golden boy and top rank for obvious reasons.Haymon is the worst thing in all of boxing. Say what you want about other powerful promotional figures like Arum or De La Hoya, but the difference imo is that those guys are at least willing to work with other promoters. They also put together better matchups, but most importantly they're not trying to cut out everyone else. Haymon and Schaeffer are cancers for boxing, and anyone who can't see that is a moron. Yes, I do like the fact that he put more boxing on television, but considering everything else he stands for I absolutely cannot say he's good for boxing.Comment

Agreed.
Maybe. But you don't know the terms of the settlement. They could still sue them as aiders and abettors, among other causes of action.Comment

they settled with schaefer and haymon. there is no way both sides would have agreed to settle without precluding further litigation on the matter. that would be ******.Comment

Haymon is just bad for everyone else's business. I personally do not have an issue with what he is doing, but I hope and pray he improves the quality of those PBC shows. They feel like boxing watered down. The energy of the events are non existent.
As for the Arum's, Oscar's etc. Instead of griping and suing, how about investing some of the money you made back into the sport also. Haymon is taking a huge risk paying free networks to broadcast his shows. Arum talked about it lots, but never did it. Oscar never even talked about it.
The sport is so lowstream now, that I doubt Haymon's vision will be a big success in the long run, but at least he is trying. He might find a niche, but unless he captures some WOW factor in his shows, he will have a hard time capturing the "addicted" type of viewers.Comment

oh so the "only" promoters he refuses to work with are the two other biggest promoters. and what obvious reasons? it seems pretty clear to me that Arum and Oscar would both be willing to repair burnt bridges in order to make the fights that make sense. Haymon and Schaeffer are like bratty little girls who couldn't care less about the fans. That's why we'll just keep seeing mismatches for Thurman, Khan, Santa Cruz, Quillin, Garcia and all the other fighters on the Haymon roster. Until hopefully one day the ship collapses.Comment
